When will Stranger Things season 5 arrive on Netflix?
Similar to many upcoming shows, Stranger Things season 5 faced numerous delays in production and filming. The writers' strike was one of the major reasons why the last chapter could not start filming on time.
However, on January 8, 2024, Netflix announced that the production has finally begun, and even shared a photo of the returning cast members accompanied by Ross and Matt Duffer.
Millie Bobby Brown shared with The Hollywood Reporter that the filming of season 5 will end around Christmas, hinting that Stranger Things finale could release sometime in 2025.
Currently, there's no confirmed release date for Stranger Things season 5, but is expected to arrive on Netflix in late 2025 or early 2026.
Who is returning in Stranger Things season 5?
Since the upcoming season is the final one of the series, it could bring back the leading characters including Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, Sadie Sink, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Maya Hawke, and a other actors spotted in the fourth chapter.

There's more to explore in the Upside Down, as fans and viewers already discovered the creatures emerging from the parallel world. The Duffer brothers planned the ending of Stranger Things in a document and told Tudum that they wanted "it to be unknowable. We want it to be mysterious".
While talking about the finale during the Geeked Week in June 2022, Ros Duffer mentioned:
"The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5... And that’s really going to affect what Season 5 is about."
However, according to Sadie Sink who spoke with Today's Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush:
"We know that it's happening and that it's the last season, so it's going to be emotional I'm sure."
Not much has been shared about the plot details to keep fans anticipating an unimaginable ending. The actress also mentioned that she's unaware of what will happen to Max, but fans will definitely see her in the last season.

Currently, there's no official trailer released for season 5, but you can take a glimpse through behind-the-scenes shared on YouTube, and it will undeniably give you goosebumps!
The video features Brown reflecting on the time when she was just a 10-year-old compared to filming the finale now at 20. The cast members are excited for the end and it is expected to be the best season of the sci-fi series.
It will bring back Vecna with more power and intensify the mystery in Upside Down, leading Eleven and her friends in another dangerous yet thrilling adventure to save Hawkins.
