Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is returning for a season 3 following the success of the second installment. Earlier this year, the first teaser for Star Trek: Strange New World dropped at San Diego ComicCon. Further details were provided by the release of a second teaser at the more recent New York City ComicCon.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds derives its narrative from the years in which Captain Christopher Pike was responsible for the U.S.S. Enterprise and consists of his team including Number One and Science Office Spock exploring other galaxies and worlds, way before Captain Kirk became a part of the starship.

Although the exact release date for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is yet to be declared, fans of the Paramount+ show can now be reassured as the production of season 3 has officially wrapped and the VFX work on the ten episodes is now underway. Apart from this, the powers that be at Paramount have further decided to greenlit a season 4 of the show.

In addition to the returning cast and possible storylines, it has also been revealed that Rhys Darby of Our Flag Means Death fame will also be joining the show as a guest star.

What is the latest buzz about Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3?

The New York City ComicCon featured an extensive presentation made by the team of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds to announce the details of the upcoming season 3.

In the promotional clip which amounted to three minutes in duration, Pike and the Enterprise crew are seen holding their own as fierce fighting rages around them.

They then proceed to outmaneuver the enemy combatants. This is believed to be a continuation of the season 2 plot in which crew members were abducted by the Gorn. The clip ends with the ship's crew hiding a tracing beacon in a torpedo in order for their plans to succeed.

Apart from the clip, several photographs from the upcoming season were also released during the course of the event. One such image shows Captain Pike trying his best to give functioning orders from the bridge, another one shows Spock sitting at his science console while Number One gazes from the control panel.
