Shrinking is about a therapist, Jimmy, who is grieving the loss of his wife. This tragedy changes him, and he begins to breach the ethical barriers with his patients until he meets a senior therapist, Paul, who is dealing with Parkinson's disease.
The show stars Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, and Christina Miller in the main roles.
While Shrinking was developed as a three-season project by Apple TV, its showrunners' latest remarks in an interview with TVLine might give fans an insight into plans beyond the upcoming Shrinking Season 3.

Is Apple keen on Shrinking Season 4?
Shrinking has been a huge hit on Apple TV since its inception, and fans have loved the characters' relationships. Season 2 just wrapped, and it looks like showrunner Bill Lawrence is already thinking way into the future.
Like another Apple TV hit, Ted Lasso, Shrinking was also conceived as a three-season project. However, with the growing popularity of both the shows and the critical reception they have received from audiences, the fans surely want more.
Lawrence has expressed his desire for Shrinking Season 4 in an interview with TVLine:
“If we’re lucky enough and Apple seems excited to keep making the show, we’ll come up with a new story.”
With a host of characters, the possibilities for Shrinking Season 4 are endless. With Jimmy still recovering from the death of his wife and Paul trying to come to terms with his declining health, Season 2 has merely introduced these themes, which will be covered in Season 3.
Considering how Season 3 turns out, the characters could go anywhere and have their own journies if Shrinking Season 4 is greenlit.
What is the latest news for Shrinking Season 3?
After a successful run for Shrinking Season 2, the creators and cast are ready for the next season.
In his interview with TVLine, Lawrence also confirmed that production for Season 3 would commence in February 2025. While there is still no confirmation on the Season 3 release date, fans can expect it between late 2025 and early 2026.
In a past interview with Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence expressed his desire to continue working on Jimmy:
"I was talking to my great partners at Apple. If they want to keep doing Shrinking, I would totally keep doing it. I just think that the story of Jason Segel’s character, Jimmy’s wife dying and dealing with that and getting through that, if you’re after six years, still going, 'I’m still sad about that thing that happened five years ago,' I’m like, 'All right, you gotta tell a new story.'"
With these latest comments, the ball is pretty much in Apple TV's court, and it remains to be seen whether the streamer is willing to venture into Shrinking Season 4 and beyond.
