Shrinking is a comedy-drama series about a therapist who is grieving his wife's death and begins to use unconventional methods to treat his patients. The Apple TV+ series has two seasons with season 2 already two episodes in and expected to run till December.
The cast of Shrinking features Jason Segel who also serves as co-creator on the show. The cast includes Jessica Williams, Harrison Ford, Michael Urie, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Luke Tennie, and Ted McGinley.

Co-created by Brett Goldstein and Bill Lawrence, Shrinking is about Jimmy Laird who is played by Jason Segel. Jimmy is a therapist at a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Center who is grieving his late wife.
Struggling with his grief, Jimmy begins to use unethical methods which are referred to as "Jimmying" to help his patients. He begins to tell his patients exactly what's on his mind. As he pursues "Jimmying", unforeseen changes begin to flood Jimmy's and his patient's lives.
Will there be a Shrinking season 3?
While season two still has ten more episodes to release, audiences have already begun to wonder if this will be the last time they get to see Jimmy Laird's "Jimmying".
While we are yet to hear of an official confirmation regarding the release of season 3, co-creator Bill Lawrence has suggested otherwise. Bill Lawrence has not shied away from hinting at a season three for Shrinking.
While in talks with Variety last year, Bill Lawrence stated,
"The second year is about forgiveness, and the third year is about moving forward."
In a conversation with TV Insider, Lawrence also stated that his team has already begun writing the third season of Shrinking. Keeping this in mind, any further news confirming season 3 is most likely to come when all episodes of season 2 have been released.
We can assume this because after season 1 ended, Apple TV+ announced a second season in the same month. Currently, episodes from season 2 are released weekly on Mondays.
What can audiences expect from Shrinking Season 3?
In season 3, audiences can expect Jimmy to dig deeper into his grief while still continuing his unconventional treatments. Audiences can also expect seeing more of his relationship with his daughter.
While talking to TV Insider, Bill Lawrence hinted at season 3. He stated he and his team began writing the script for the new season. Lawrence stated,
"I think whenever anybody undergoes a true catastrophic stick in the spoked in their life, like the characters in the show did, what you're really talking about the first two years is what it means to survive and then kind of bury the hatchet and mend fences."
He further added,
"But that doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be able to move forward in your life and start over again. I think that's what people will probably be watching the third year. And when you say moving forward, even off the rop of my head, so it's not a spoiler, I think people are aware that we've intentionally made a young woman who's a senior in high school."
He concluded by stating,
"We've potentially gotten some people in serious relationships. We've intentionally been looking at Harrison Ford's character and how much longer can he do this with the condition he has. And so I think it's going to be a rich third year too. I say that because we're already writing it."
Which cast members are most likely to return for season 3?
Since Jimmy still has a long way to go in his grief, we can without a doubt expect Jason Segel to return for a season 3. Audiences can expect Jessica Williams who plays Gabby and Harrison Ford who plays Dr. Paul Rhoades to return as Jimmy's colleagues.
Viewers can also expect to see Jimmy's daughter, Alice who is played by Lukita Maxwell to return for season 3. Michael Urie who plays Jimmy's best friend, Brian, and Christa Miller who plays Jimmy's neighbor are also expected to reprise their roles for season 3. Audiences might also see Liz's husband, Derek who is played by Ted McGinley.
