The American post-apocalyptic horror drama series The Walking Dead is based on Robert Kirkman's comic book and the unique drama centers on zombie apocalypse survivors who have to deal with challenges from both other human groups and zombies. After its October 31, 2010, launch, it continued for 11 seasons until its November 20, 2022, conclusion.
The series, which starred Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, and others, became the mainstay of AMC and The Walking Dead world was expanded into a wider media property with the help of other spin-offs, which were likewise renowned for their compelling storyline and character development.
In an interview, Scott M. Gimple, studio executive, stated that The Walking Dead may go on as long as the characters are strong and have aspects of action, fear, and emotion. As long as they stay up with Robert Kirkman's enduring characters, he thinks the plot can go endlessly. He said:
"There are characters from every Walking Dead series that I would love to tell stories with again, some picking up from the last time we saw them, maybe seeing some after a lot of time has passed. Robert Kirkman created indelible, addictive characters and we've always just tried to keep pace with him."

"That's the stuff of a great story. And the scariness, the action, the emotion, the discovery… That can go on and on, as long as we have some terrific characters. "
