Will there be a Season 4 for Ginny & Georgia? Future of the Netflix comedy drama, explored

Netflix's comedy-drama Ginny & Georgia, which debuted in February 2021 became an instant hit and fan favorite.

Season 2, which debuted on January 5, 2023, also received an overwhelming response, where it was watched for 504.77 million hours globally during the first 28 days, per Variety.

Considering this response, Netflix announced a double renewal in May 2023, which means Ginny & Georgia will return for Season 4. Season 3 will arrive in June 2025.

In Season 2, things finally went right for the mother-daughter duo and Georgia got to have her dream wedding in the finale. But their moments of happiness were interrupted when she got arrested for Tom's murder, which she (kind of) committed in the earlier episodes.

Season 3 will also see the return of actresses Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry as Georgia and Ginny, respectively.

When can Ginny & Georgia Season 4 begin shooting? Speculations explored

Following a double-renewal, Netflix's Tudum revealed that Ginny & Georgia had wrapped up the shoot for Season 3 in August 2024. It was then announced that the latest season would arrive on Netflix on June 5, 2025.

Seasons 1 and 2 began shooting in August 2019 and November 2021, respectively. Considering this pattern, it was expected that Season 4 should have begun shooting, but as confirmed by actor Nathan Mitchell who plays Zion Miller on the show, the cast will take a gap between Seasons 3 and 4. In an interview with ScreenRant, Mitchell said:

''We're going to take some time [after season 3.] Luckily, I think The Boys is going to start filming soon, but we will have wrapped up [Ginny & Georgia] season 3 by the time [we start The Boy season 5]. Then we'll take some time, and then next year, we'll get into it.''

Miller's statement confirms that Season 4 will begin shooting somewhere around April 2025, but nothing has been confirmed yet. If the crew follows their previous pattern, Season 4 could arrive in early 2026, but we will keep you updated about confirmed news for Season 4.

What can you expect from Ginny & Georgia's latest season?

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 ended up on a massive cliffhanger, leaving Ginny, Austin, and Georgia's fate in the air, the new season will pick up after the events of Georgia's arrest in the Season 2 finale.

In an interview with Netflix's Tudum, creator Sarah Lampert discussed how she wanted the show to feel like real life. She discussed how Georgia wants nothing more than to leave her past behind, but that not everybody is given that luxury in life:

“Georgia needed to kill someone and she needed to kill someone in Wellsbury, Massachusetts...“We can’t wrap it up in a pretty bow. That’s not real life. That’s certainly not Georgia’s life. It never has been. Why would it start to be her life now?''

She added:

[Season 3 will add] ''new hurdles, new relationships, and new challenges in a way we haven’t seen before on the show.”

In addition to the main cast reprising their respective characters in the upcoming season, some new additions have been made in Season 3, which includes Ty Doran and Noah Lamanna as Wolfe and Tris, respectively.

It was reported that both actors will join the cast in Season 3 as recurring characters, so we hope to see them in Season 4, too.
