The Devil's Hour returned with its much-awaited second season two years after the first season ended. Season 1 ended with a solid cliffhanger and if fans are wondering whether they will have to wait endlessly for any update on season 3, there is good news for them.

The Peter Capaldi show has been renewed for a third season and it was done at the same time as season 2 since Tom Moran, the show's writer always envisioned The Devil’s Hour as a three-season series. The second season of The Devil’s Hour has more firmly embraced the show's concept of multiple timelines.

Now that the genre of The Devil's Hour is clear, there are a lot of twists and turns that are left to be explored in the coming season.

Fans of The Devil’s Hour can rejoice as the show has not only been renewed for a third season but has also been shot already. The filming of season 3 already took place way before season 2 premiered on Prime Video.

It is clear to the fans by now that The Devil’s Hour is going to function as a trilogy as Jessica Raine, who plays Lucy in the show, mentioned back in 2022,

"When I took the job, what was so attractive to me was that the whole of the first season was written when we started that first day of shooting, so I knew exactly where it was going.”

Adding,

"I also knew that he [writer Tom Moran] had a season 2 and a season 3 planned out."

On the other hand, Sue Vertue, CEO of Hartswood Films and the executive producer of the show mentioned that they were all extremely happy when seasons 2 and 3 of The Devil's Hour were first announced as that gave them an opportunity to continue Lucy’s story for two more seasons.

He also added,

"Tom Moran and his big brain have so much more planned for us all. This was always envisioned as a three-series arc, and it’s going to be a thrilling ride."

When will The Devil’s Hour Season 3 release?

Though there was a 2-year gap between seasons 1 and 2 of The Devil’s Hour, fans will most likely not have to wait that long for season 3.

The reason behind this is that seasons 2 and 3 of The Devil's Hour have been shot in quick succession and since the filming of season 3 has already taken place, the waiting time between the seasons is most likely to be reduced.

Since season 2 comes out in October 2024, a one-year gap can be expected till the next season comes. It can therefore be said that The Devil’s Hour Season 3 will premiere sometime around October 2025.

However, with no official confirmation yet, the release date remains a guess.
