Will there be a Season 3 of And Just Like That...? Details explored

And Just Like That..., sequel to the popular series Sex and the City, premiered in 2021. Created by Michael Patrick King, And Just Like That... follows the three friends Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York Goldenblatt, and Miranda Hobbes of the original series, as they navigate life and friendship in their fifties.

While the first season of And Just Like That... was announced as a mini-series, a second season was announced in March, 2022, after a month of Season 1 ended. The series got renewed for a third season in August 2023.

Announcing And Just Like That... Season 3, Michael Patrick King, executive producer of the show, said:

“We are thrilled to spend more time in the ‘Sex And The City’ universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors. And Just Like That… here comes Season 3.”

When will And Just Like That... Season 3 release?

A release date for And Just Like That... Season 3 is yet to be officially confirmed, the new season will certainly premiere in 2025. In a sizzle reel featuring its new releases of 2025, Max gave a glimpse of And Just Like That..., which confirms Season 3 will drop this year.

Following production delays because of the writers and actors strikes, Variety confirmed in a February 2024 report that the production of And Just Like That... Season 3 was to begin later that year. Filming officially began in May.

What will And Just Like That... Season 3 be about?

Given how And Just Like That... Season 2 ended, the third season could be focusing on a number of interesting plot points. Season 2 saw Carrie and Aidan getting back together but by the time the finale happened, the couple agreed on a five-year break, which means Carrie would be single in the third season. This holds lots of possibilities for her character in terms of a storyline.

Talking about her character Carrie, Sarah Jessica Parker told Variety:

"Carrie [Bradshaw] has a wonderful storyline. The story takes some big swings and we fold some big ideas into those big swings. Some of the male characters are back, and there are some new men."

She added:

“It feels really big, really robust and exciting. There are so many interesting stories with additional characters that rightfully find a real home.”

Season 2 also saw Miranda and Che breaking up, which in turn brought Che’s character to a natural conclusion. She will not return in Season 3. Moreover, Charlotte was shown to be getting back to her professional life after spending a year at home as a mother, which means her professional shenanigans would probably feature in And Just Like That... Season 3.

Who is in the cast of And Just Like That... Season 3?

The primary cast including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and John Corbett will return in And Just Like That... Season 3, as Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Aidan Shaw respectively.

New additions in Season 3 include actors such as Mehcad Brooks, Logan Marshall-Green, and Jonathan Cake, who will have recurring roles. Sebastiano Pigazzi and Dolly Wells, who play Giuseppe and Joy, turn into series regulars with Season 3.
