Amazon Prime Video has finally confirmed that The Terminal List is returning for a second season. The action-packed thriller starring Chris Pratt as James Reece will continue, much to the delight of fans.

But that's not all, there's also a prequel spin-off in the works! The upcoming show, Terminal List: Dark Wolf, will focus on Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch, and will introduce a key character from the book, Raife Hastings. Surprisingly, the prequel will be filmed before Season 2!

So, what can we expect from The Terminal List Season 2 and this new spin-off? Here’s everything you need to know.

About The Terminal List

The Terminal List is a military action-thriller series based on Jack Carr’s bestselling novel. It follows Lieutenant Commander James Reece (Chris Pratt), a Navy SEAL who uncovers a deep conspiracy after his entire team is ambushed.

Fueled by revenge, he takes justice into his own hands, eliminating those responsible. The first season was a huge hit on Amazon Prime Video, known for its intense action and gripping storyline.

This spin-off will dive into Ben Edwards' past, showing his journey from Navy SEAL to CIA operative. The series will also introduce Raife Hastings, one of the most popular characters from Jack Carr’s books.

Season 2 will follow the plot of True Believer, the second book in Jack Carr’s series. At the end of Season 1, James Reece was one of the most wanted fugitives in the world.

However, when a terrorist attack happens in London, the U.S. government realizes they need his help. In exchange for his expertise, they offer him a deal, help them stop the threat, and they’ll clear his name.

Chris Pratt shared his excitement for the upcoming projects, saying:

“I’m thrilled to reprise my role as James Reece in Season 2. This season will be even more action-packed. Also, I’m excited about Terminal List: Dark Wolf, which will explore Ben Edwards’ story. I’ll also be appearing in the prequel!”

So far, the only confirmed returning cast member is Chris Pratt as James Reece. Since many characters were killed in Season 1, we’ll see a mostly new cast in Season 2. Possible returns include:

  • Constance Wu as journalist Katie Buranek
  • JD Pardo as FBI Agent Tony Layun

Taylor Kitsch’s character, Ben Edwards, won’t be in Season 2 (since he died), but he will be the main focus of the prequel.

Season 1 followed James Reece as he sought revenge for the deaths of his team and family. By the end of the season, he had taken down everyone responsible, making him a fugitive.

One major difference is that in the books, Reece doesn’t get surgery to remove his brain tumor until the third novel (Savage Son). The show might change this timeline.

While filming locations haven’t been announced yet, parts of Season 1 were shot in California and Washington. Season 2 may explore international locations, especially if it follows the book’s events in London and Iraq.

Since the prequel will be filmed first, The Terminal List Season 2 might not arrive until late 2025 or early 2026.

With Jack Carr still writing books, there’s potential for more seasons beyond Season 2.

Fans are thrilled about the return of The Terminal List. The announcement of a prequel series has only added to the excitement. With intense action, deep storytelling, and new characters, Season 2 and Dark Wolf are set to expand the Terminal List universe in exciting ways.
