The Bondsman premiered on Prime Video on April 3, 2025. The series is the perfect blend of action, horror, and humor as it revolves around a former bounty hunter who is resurrected to catch and send back demons who have run away from hell.
The show is being appreciated for its eerie visuals, engaging story, and stellar performances by the cast, which includes the likes of Kevin Bacon, Beth Grant, Jennifer Nettles, Maxwell Jenkins, and Damon Herriman.
The first season of the show featured only eight episodes and ended on a cliffhanger, which has left the audience wondering when there will be a Season 2 of The Bondsman. The show has not been renewed for a second season yet; however, the production team is hopeful about its continuation.
The renewal status and possibility of The Bondsman Season 2
As of now, Prime Video has not confirmed The Bondsman Season 2. However, fans need not worry, as the show dropped just recently, and the streamer will likely take a few days or weeks to decide on its future, based on viewership numbers and profitability.
The series has so far received positive reviews, which works in its favor. At the same time, the first season ended in such a way that it has already set up a potential second installment.
In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Erik Oleson, who wrote a majority of the episodes, including the finale, revealed he deliberately ended Season 1 on a cliffhanger so that the story could continue:
“I intentionally wrote Season 1 to have an ending that would make it difficult for Amazon not to give Kevin and me more chances to make more episodes. We were evil, devious partners in trying to make sure this show goes the distance.”
In another interview with TV Insider, Oleson stated he has a plan for how he wants the story to move forward in the potential second season:
“All I can say is I have a plan. We’ve got some really fun stuff planned, depending on whether or not the show is able to [return].”
While the executive producer is all geared up to work on The Bondsman Season 2, the decision to continue the show ultimately lies with Prime Video, and we need to wait for an official confirmation from the streamer.
If the second season does get greenlit in the upcoming weeks, it will likely premiere on Prime Video sometime in 2026. There was a gap of a year between the filming and release of the first season. The second chapter is expected to follow the same trend, and hence, a 2026 premiere seems plausible.
What could be the storyline of The Bondsman Season 2?
There are a number of plot points that are left unresolved at the end of The Bondsman Season 1. Lilith has offered Hub a deal to serve her in order to protect Maryanne.
It will be interesting to see how Hub is able to manage this new role. Hub and Maryanne’s relationship is an integral part of the narrative and is expected to be explored further in the potential Season 2. In an interview with TV Insider, lead actor Kevin Bacon talked about what to expect from the second installment and said:
“There’s a lot about Hub’s relationship to Maryanne that has to kind of drive the show. I think that he loves her, and he knows that he f***** that up and that he would do anything to get her back.”
“Even if he doesn’t want to admit it to her or to himself or anybody else in the world. I do think that’s in his core. So I think the exploration of that, given the fact that she’s now possessed, is gonna be interesting.”

The series is not based on a novel, so the creators and writers would have to continue with an original storyline in the second season. Considering how well they have crafted the first season’s narrative, the potential second chapter is expected to be just as exciting.
