Popular FOX series, Rescue: HI—Surf, Season 1 aired its finale on March 31, 2025, and already speculations are rife about the possibility of a Season 2. The drama series revolves around the lives of a group of lifeguards on the North Shore of O’ahu. Fox has not renewed Rescue: HI—Surf for Season 2 yet, but the show's creator, Matt Kester, hinted his interest in the renewal.
On March 31, Kester spoke to TV Insider about the possibility of Season 2 and stated:
“I feel good. I’m always positive, and we have a ton more stories to tell. I think people are finding the show. I’m really heartened that a ton of people watch the show with their family… And I really feel grateful to Fox, Hulu, [and] Warner Brothers for allowing us to create that kind of show. I think people are still finding it and the people who do find it love it. So hopefully we’ll get a chance to keep going on it.”
Rescue: HI—Surf's ensemble cast includes Robbie Magasiva, Arielle Kebbel, Alex Aiono, Kekoa Kekumano, Adam Demos, and Zoe Cipres among others.
Will Rescue: HI—Surf be renewed for Season 2?
Rescue: HI—Surf aired its Season 1 final episode titled, ‘Let Go’, on March 31, 2025. As per USTVDB, the show on FOX was watched by about 1.2 million people as of March 24, 2025. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show has a 50% rating from critics and a 70% rating from audiences.
Joel Keller from Decider shared:
“While Rescue: HI-Surf isn’t the deepest drama we’ve seen, the rescue scenes combined with Wells’ knowledge of how to build characters around the action give us confidence that the series has potential.”
While Angie Han from The Hollywood Reporter wrote:
“Rescue HI-Surf might eventually float itself toward a sense of humor, or a taste for drama, or a tolerance for messiness. But for now, it’s the TV equivalent of one of those big waves that lose steam before hitting the shore.”
FOX has renewed some of the other shows on the network such as Doc, The Jennifer Hudson Show, Next Level Chef, Murder in a Small Town, and The 1% Club. However, there has been no update on the possible renewal of Rescue: HI—Surf yet.
