9-1-1: Lone Star is finally ending after Season 5, with only two episodes left till the finale, and fans are wondering whether Jim Parrack's Judd and Sierra McClain's Grace will finally reconcile.
Grace, a 911 dispatcher, has been an important character in the show since Season 1. She married firefighter Judd, and the two also have a daughter named Charlie on the show.
However, after McClain's exit in the Season 5 premiere, Grace was shown going abroad to volunteer for a Christian charity. And since her absence from Judd's life, he has been struggling alone, which worsened in Episode 10.
But Grace's call at the end of 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 10 hints that the couple could reconcile before the finale, and there might be hope for them after all. Grace suggested to work things out with Judd before the episode ends.
More on Grace and Judd's fate on 9-1-1: Lone Star.
Judd was at his lowest in 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 10
Since Grace has left him in 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5, Judd has struggled to find his footing. He was handling their daughter Charlie at his home alone, managing his challenging job at the Station, and recovering from the emptiness Grace left in his life.
But, all this came to a head in Season 5, Episode 10, after Charlie left her father to stay with her grandparents for a while. After he had nobody to look after him, he drowned his sorrows in alcohol and turned to drinking. The episode also showed that he had lost his faith in God by turning towards alcohol, which even got him to attend AA.
But things turned for the worse when his drinking problem almost got him killed in a fire at an ammunition factory after he neglected his boss' orders and went straight into the fire. His friend Owen stepped in and talked to him to get help, which he clearly needed.
While there seems to be no hope left for Judd and his marriage with Grace, she calls him at the end of the episode to talk things out.
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 10 hinted there might be hope for Judd and Grace in the finale
With only two episodes left in the final season of 9-1-1: Lone Star, it seemed that Judd and Grace's marriage was headed towards a tragic end until Grace's phone call at the end of Episode 10.
In an interview with Variety, Parrack hinted that the couple might reconcile before or in the series finale because Grace will always be the answer to every Judd's problem:
"...there is this link, this connection to Grace, and the presumption is she's coming home when her work is done. It's not a fractured family, she's just away."
While Parrack's remark instilled hope for Judd-Grace fans, co-showrunner Rashad Raisani confirmed in an interview with TVLine that McClain would not return for the 9-1-1: Lone Star finale.
Raisani's comment confirms that we will not see an on-screen reconciliation between Judd and Grace in the last episode, but the makers might reconcile them off-screen. While it would not be the same, Judd fans would not want him to suffer alone like this, and it would be a bittersweet satisfaction to see the couple get back together, even if it is off-screen.
So, while fans should not wait for a McClain cameo in the 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 cameo, they can still hope for Judd and Grace to reconcile.
