Bosch: Legacy Season 3 finale will mark the conclusion of the police procedural series as Amazon Prime Video announced its cancellation in September 2024. Ever since the show was confirmed to be ending, audiences have been worried about Harry Bosch’s fate.
Titus Welliver has been playing the character of Bosch since 2014, when the eponymous series premiered. The show ended in 2021 and was followed up by its sequel, Bosch: Legacy. Now that the sequel is concluding, fans are wondering if the creators will finish the storyline with the death of Harry Bosch.
However, audiences need not worry, as Harry Bosch is not going to die in the Bosch: Legacy series finale. Actor Titus Welliver confirmed that his character lives on after the show concludes.
Harry Bosch is not going to die in Bosch: Legacy Season 3 finale
In a recent interview with MovieWeb, Titus Welliver talked about the ending of Bosch: Legacy Season 3 and revealed that Harry Bosch will make it out of the series alive. He said that even if the show had not been canceled and the team had been given a final season, Harry would have still survived:
“Even if we were given a last season... Harry's not getting killed, and he's not riding off into the sunset. That's not the way he rolls.”
Meanwhile, a spin-off to the show is already in development, focusing on Detective Renee Ballard, played by Maggie Q. Titus has also confirmed his involvement in the new series, called Ballard, revealing that he will be making cameo appearances in a few episodes. The actor said in an interview with TV Insider in March 2025:
“I did a few episodes, cameos for a better word, which were a lot of fun.”
Since Harry is going to appear in Ballard, it is all the more confirmed that he will not die in Bosch: Legacy Season 3 finale. Talking about how the show will lead to the spin-off, Titus said in his interview:
“At the end of this season she’s working on a cold case that Harry’s been obsessed with for years. It was about three young Asian women, whose photos he kept on his desk. That’s how Bosch and Ballard intersect.”
Hence, audiences can keep calm as the fan-favorite detective is certain to survive the events of Bosch: Legacy. The character is based on Michael Connelly’s novels and debuted on screens with the Prime Video series Bosch in 2014. In the original show, Harry worked for the LAPD in the homicide department.
In the sequel series, he started working as a freelance private investigator and solved some high-stakes cases every season. In the third and final chapter, he has to investigate the case of a missing family while also being under scrutiny for a murder.
Titus Welliver has already expressed his disappointment with the show coming to an end and hopes that the character could be revisited in the future, with a new show or a movie.
Developed by Michael Connelly, Tom Bernardo, and Eric Overmyer, the show also stars Madison Lintz as Madeline "Maddie" Bosch, Mimi Rogers as Honey "Money" Chandler, Anthony Gonzales as Officer Rico Perez, Paul Calderón as Detective III Santiago "Jimmy" Robertson, Stephen Chang as Maurice "Mo" Bassi, and Denise G. Sanchez as Officer Reina Vasquez.
Bosch: Legacy Season 3 finale will be released on Prime Video on April 17, 2025.
