Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester's new comedy drama Good Cop/Bad Cop is finally available on The CW. The show is about two siblings, Lou and Henry Hickman, who are detectives at a small town police force.

Although they're family, things aren't necessarily smooth between them. Not only that, the siblings also must contend with a lack of enough resources to carry out their tasks effectively.

As witnessed in the pilot episode, the series is set in a fictional town named Eden Vale in Washington state. It's a tight-knit small town that has a population of just 9,347 people, so it's nice and cozy but at the same time quirky and full of unexpected situations.

The first season received good reviews from viewers, but The CW hasn't greenlit the show for a second season. Meester, who plays one of the lead roles in Good Cop/Bad Cop, shared her own view of what the show feels like. She described it as a mix between Gilmore Girls and Twin Peaks:

"I would say it’s Gilmore Girls meets Twin Peaks, a quippy, talky, heartwarming mashup of two genres."

She continued:

"Centered on the family, it’s got that small town, Northwest murder mystery feel, set in a sheriff’s department. It’s a world that I want to live in with quirky, offbeat characters and story."

The actress explained that Good Cop/Bad Cop isn't just about crime but also about family relationships. Interestingly, the entire story takes place within a local sheriff's department, which adds to a grounded community feel.

The CW hasn't renewed Good Cop/Bad Cop as of now

If you've been enjoying watching Good Cop/ Bad Cop on The CW and are eager to know if we're getting a second season, then note that the crime-comedy hasn't been renewed yet. The first chapter has just wrapped up, and it’s not uncommon for networks to take some time before making renewal decisions, especially with new shows.

One question that many fans might want to know about the siblings is who is the good cop and who isn't. During the same interview, Meester was asked to shed light on the difference between Lou and Henry, to which the actress said:

"Without digging too deep, on its face, Lou is probably the good cop and Henry is probably the bad cop — but that will shift, and what good and bad means is open for interpretation."

The Monte Carlo star added:

"What’s so enjoyable about Lou is that yes, she’s tough and very invested in her job, but she is woven into her small town and leads with humor and kindness. She’s a little bit too nice for her own good sometimes, so I really relate to that."

Lou and Henry took a new criminal case every week and ended up solving it in a quirky manner. Apart from her personal life, Lou has been through emotional challenges and doesn’t always find it easy to open up to love.

She's so dedicated to being a cop that her personal life often takes a backseat in Good Cop/Bad Cop. The show even features Adam Brody in a cameo, who is Meester’s husband in real life.
