Daredevil: Born Again might have reached the end of its first season on Disney+, however, speculation regarding the addition of new names to the cast of the second season is just about getting started. The first season of Daredevil: Born Again provided a fitting continuation of the erstwhile Netflix iteration and introduced several familiar characters like Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, and Frank Castle.

With the second season, audience anticipation is at an all-time high, seeking the reprisal of Elodie Yung's Elektra. Although Marvel hasn't yet provided any official confirmation about whether Elodie Yung shall be a part of the Disney+ show's second season, the actress herself has expressed willingness for the same. Here's everything that we know.

Elodie Yung was first seen as Elektra Natchios on the second season of Netflix's Daredevil back in 2016. She then went on to appear in the same role once again on The Defenders. Elektra's significance on the show extended far beyond the realm of fighting crime together, as both Elektra and Matt Murdock were drawn to each other in a romantic bond.

In a recent conversation with Toofab, Yung revealed that she was greatly interested in reprising her role on the Disney+ show's sophomore season:

"Oh my god, I would love that! My fans are like “Can you come back?” I’m like, ask Mr. Marvel. You have to ask Mr. Marvel… I would gladly replay this part, are you kidding? She’s so much fun!

Elektra's presence alongside Matt Murdock will not only go a long way in bolstering the latter's morale but also provide the blind attorney-turned-vigilante with a real shot at dismantling the crime empire erected by Wilson Fisk. This is all the more pertinent since Marvel might just be keen to explore Elektra's storyline in a more dignified manner after the disastrous Secret Invasion outing.

It is optimistic to note that, alongside Yung's enthusiasm to return as Elektra, Marvel Studios executive producer Sara Amanat is keen to bring her back. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the producer behind the Disney+ show had remarked:

"One hundred percent it’s in the back of our heads. Eventually, we’ll try to figure out a bit more with that."

What's the latest buzz about Daredevil: Born Again season 2?

It has now been confirmed by creator Dario Scardapane that the sophomore season of Daredevil: Born Again will premiere sometime in March 2026, marking exactly a year apart from the release of its debut season. Marvel's Head of TV Brand, Brad Winderbaum, had revealed to ScreenRant:

"That is the plan. Season 2 will come out next year, and then hopefully season 3 and season infinity after that. I think this world is extremely rich, and there are many stories to be told on the streets of New York.”

He further added:

"It's certainly something very fundamental to Marvel, going back to the earliest days of publishing with Stan and Jack and Steve and the original Marvel bullpen. It's New York through New York, and the fact that we're able to shoot here and tell a story about New York made by New Yorkers is just fundamental to the series.”

Daredevil: Born Again is exclusively available on Disney+.
