Daredevil: Born Again Episode 4, titled Sic Semper Systema, unveils Muse, the mysterious villain, and this is the first time the psychotic muralist has been adapted in live-action entertainment. Muse is a relatively new character, who appeared in Marvel Comics for the first time in September 2016.

According to the comic book, Muse belongs to a race of aliens called the Inhumans. His civilian name is unknown and we don't know what he looks like beneath the mask and white suit. So, Daredevil: Born Again has a chance to bring something new with the character that's yet to be explored in the medium of comic books. Marvel Comics fans have been wondering if Muse will be an Inhuman in the MCU, too, as he is in the source material.

Based on the shout-out to the Skrulls in the fourth episode of Born Again, Muse's status as an Inhuman could seem possible in the ongoing Daredevil series and, in turn, other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and shows he might appear in. After all, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness did bring back Anson Mount as Black Bolt, one of the most powerful Inhumans.

We met Muse for the first time in Daredevil Vol. 5 #11, published in September 2016. He is a muralist who looks at the world from an artistic lens, but he has a twisted vision of art. He creates 'art' using the organs and blood of his victims. Muse looks lean but appearances can be deceiving. He may possess super strength, which is probably why he can carry bodies effortlessly.

One of Muse's best-known moments in the comic books is when he gouges out the eyes of Daredevil's mentee Blindspot/Samuel Chung. While Blindspot doesn't feature in Daredevil: Born Again, the show has Dr. Heather Glenn. In the second episode of the series, titled Optics, we meet a mysterious young man named Bastian, played by Hunter Doohan.

He is seen attending a reading event presided over by Margarita Levieva's Heather Glenn. As the event concludes and she is signing books, Bastian walks over to her and tells Heather that he needs help. He asks if she can take him as a patient, to which she replies that she would look into it. We don't meet him after this, but fans have been wondering if Bastian was the show's version of Muse.

Daredevil: Born Again's 'Bastian' might be Muse

From what we have seen of Bastian in Daredevil: Born Again's second episode, it is possible that he suffers from a personality disorder, for which he reaches out to Heather for help. Muse could be some sort of a personality that emerged from Bastian's Terrigenesis transformation as an Inhuman that he is unable to control.

This may make viewers care about Muse, who in the comics doesn't have much of a backstory. As for the possibility of Muse being an Inhuman, the upcoming episodes will answer the question.
