Marvel recently dropped a trailer for the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again, and fans of the show are rife with expectations. Daredevil: Born Again is expected to arrive sometime on March 4, 2025. In the absence of any further details, it is worth mentioning that several stars from The Defenders saga shall be making an appearance on Daredevil: Born Again. The list includes Matt Murdock, Benjamin Poindexter, Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Wilson Fisk, and Frank Castle.

The latest trailer for Daredevil: Born Again even contained a discreet reference to the Harlem Paradise, which served as Luke Cage's base of operations once. Fans have begun speculating whether this might be a subtle nod to the idea that Luke Cage might even be included in the cast of Daredevil: Born Again.

The Disney+ show is expected to serve as a continuation of the original The Defenders saga, albeit with a major creative overhaul. The official Marvel biography for the upcoming show reads:

"In Marvel Television’s “Daredevil: Born Again,” Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course."

What to expect from Daredevil: Born Again?

The Defenders was a popular show on Netflix that featured Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage teaming up together to fight the crime syndicate that was known as the Hand. Much of the action of the show was based in New York and featured the four characters combining their forces against a common enemy.

In direct continuation of this narrative, the Disney+ show is poised to be the first Marvel show that will feature a prominent character from a Netflix title, as Matt Murdock will now be pitted against a new set of adventurous circumstances.

As the trailer for the Disney+ show revealed the upcoming showdown between Matt Murdock and his nemesis Kingpin, also known as Wilson Fisk (played by Vincent D'Onofrio). Alongside these two, several familiar faces from the original Netflix Daredevil show are also presented.

Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio speak about the show

Actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio attended the New York Comic Con back in November, 2024, where they spoke at length about their characters, Matt Murdock and Kingpin, respectively, in the upcoming Disney+ show. When asked about the character arcs of the actors in the narrative, Vincent D'Onofrio answered:

"I think it’s cool that they (Daredevil and Kingpin) are on different paths, but the way that they feel about each other is still very present. Their relationship is very tense. I tried to be nice, I really did! There’s so much that I want to say, but there’s nothing really specific that I can say. These paths they’re on this season have to do with their personal lives, as well. (Wilson’s wife) Vanessa (played by Ayelet Zurer) gets to do some pretty great things this season. Ayelet is such a wonderful actress."

Charlie Cox further added:

"Another cool thing is that these characters recognize that their obsession with, and hatred towards, each other has caused more outward damage than good. So they have to find a way to reconcile their differences."

Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ on March 4, 2025.
