The promotions for Daredevil: Born Again are in full swing as the release date for the Disney+ series approaches. The series continues the storyline that began almost a decade ago in 2015 through the Netflix series. Although season 2 is already being produced, season 3 for this show has not yet been greenlit.
One of the promotions involved Charlie Cox appearing on Good Morning America on February 19, 2025. In that interview, Cox surprised the fans with a small clip and even recalled a humorous story of him and the cast learning that Daredevil: Born Again has been renewed for a second season. He said:
"The cast and myself were on the stage at D23 in Anaheim in front of 12,000 people and Kevin Feige announced we were doing season 2. That's how we all found out. We walked off stage and were like, 'Great, I guess we're coming back!'"
Brad Winderbaum and Charlie Cox gave another interview to Entertainment Weekly on February 19, 2025, discussing the possibility of Daredevil: Born Again's third season continuing after season 2.
What did Charlie Cox and Brad Winderbaum say about the possibility of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3?
Entertainment Weekly's Nick Romano interviewed the Daredevil: Born Again actor Charlie Cox, showrunner Dario Scardapane, and Brad Winderbaum, the man who currently heads Marvel Studios' streaming. Romano asked both Winderbaum and Cox about the possibility of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. Here's what Brad Winderbaum told Romano:
"One-hundred percent it's a multi-season show - I don't know how many seasons it'll run."
Meanwhile, Cox told Romano that the former currently doesn't know if there are any seasons beyond Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Charlie Cox's quote about Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 was:
"It would be cool for that journey to continue."
So, based on the comments, it sounds like the makers can imagine creating a Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. But we have to wait for a while for the official confirmation of the third season of Born Again. Apart from season 3, the interview also shined light on the previous version of the series that was shelved and retooled to the one that will be released on March 4, 2025.
The makers also had some interesting details about the previous version of Daredevil: Born Again
Brad Winderbaum also discussed the previous version of Daredevil: Born Again, which Marvel Studios ultimately scrapped in September 2023. People were under the impression that the previous version of Born Again must've been unwatchable or not that good. However, Brad Winderbaum revealed an interesting fact about the previous version of the show to Entertainment Weekly:
"They did quite well because [audiences] loved the characters. They loved Vincent and Charlie, so there was a lot of goodwill there."
Dario Scardapane, the showrunner also had this to add about the previous version of Born Again:
"The things that were working, and the things that always worked, [were] Matt Murdock and his relationship with his friends, the dichotomy of being a hero and a lawyer, the pressures of a person in your life like Kingpin — all of those were there. It was really a matter of adding to and giving context. There were a couple of storylines that just needed to be there, and it wasn't even with our main characters."
Do you think that there will be a third season of Daredevil: Born Again? Let us know. The first two episodes of the series will be streamed on March 4, 2025.
