Netflix's latest German sci-fi show, Cassandra, debuted on the platform on February 6, 2025. It follows the story of the Prill family, who moves into a retro-based smart home powered by an AI house help.
As the show progresses, the AI assistant turns hostile towards the family members and starts to manipulate them. It is then revealed that she was once a human woman who uploaded her consciousness into an advanced AI system. She seems to remember herself and spares Samira, who is reunited with her family once again. The finale ends with Cassandra finally breaking her spell and burning down the house she was trapped in. She then leaves the house with her daughter's spirits.
While the Season 1 finale showed that the AI assistant finally found peace in the end after being reunited with her dead daughter, she could make a comeback for season 2.
In addition, a second season could also explore her origin story or another gripping tale of the AI robot tormenting another family. But since Netflix has not announced anything as of yet, fans might have to wait a bit for the show's future.
