Tyler Perry, who is the director, creator, and executive producer of the show, posted on social media confirming the renewal of Beauty In Black.

"I’m just gonna sit this right here!! YALL AINT READY FOR SEASON 2 of #BeautyInBlack !! Thanks for making season one HUGE!” He wrote on his Instagram handle.

The show follows Kimmie, a struggling dancer and stripper whose life intertwines with a powerful influential African American family. The family runs a successful hair care empire and, secretively, an underground trafficking ring. Mallory, a successful businesswoman, also significantly contributes to the narrative. Their paths cross unexpectedly, setting off a series of intense and dramatic events.

Season 1, consisting of 16 episodes divided into two parts, received huge appreciation, with Global TV ranking among the top 10. The show is shot in Atlanta in the Tyler Perry studios, which provide the perfect backdrop for its intense sets and impactful performances. Chicago provides a vibrant backdrop for Kimmie, who struggles with her professional responsibilities at the club and dealing with a criminal family.

The show's accumulated brilliance in terms of filming and performances, as well as its reception, have resulted in its renewal for a new season. It was viewed in more than 40 countries and watched for 136.90 hours.

What to expect in season 2 of Beauty In Black?

Beauty In Black, with its season 2, will continue to explore the intertwined lives of Kimmie and Mallory, bringing more drama, suspense, and unexpected twists. The main cast will reprise their characters, with Taylor Polidore Williams as Kimmie, Crystle Stewart as Mallory, and Debbi Morgan as Olivia, among others.

At the end of season 1, part 2, Kimmie and Angel plan to rob Horace, the owner of the club where Kimmie works. But then happens the twist in the story, and we see a group of masked men storming into Horace’s club to steal from his hidden safe. They held Kimmie and Angel Hostage; however, Horace managed to kill all the men before they could escape the club. Afterward, Horace also thinks of Kimmie being part of the heist, but Angel takes the blame. Later, Horace got diverted to a more important issue.

Season 2 cliffhanger leaves Body's fate ambiguous while Kimmie still has to rescue her sister Sylvia held by Body. Therefore, the upcoming season will surely be resolving these mysteries for its viewers.
