Andor Season 2 will see the return of a Season 1 character whose fate was mysteriously unresolved: Kino Loy. After the prison break, we see all the prisoners, including Kino, make their way towards the entrance of the prison. But since the prison was a secluded island, prisoners were required to jump into the water and swim to the shore to be free.

Kino doesn't jump, letting all the other prisoners take their leap of freedom. Many believed that Kino died off-screen, but Andy Serkis revealed that Kino was still alive after the events of the prison break in a Collider interview published on April 10, 2023. This is what Serkis told Steve Weintraub:

"Well, put it this way, Tony Gilroy said to me, 'He’s still alive!' That’s what he said to me. So, that seems to me like there’s some sort of …there’s a possibility that he might be alive."

Andy Serkis then went on to praise Gilroy, saying:

"Yeah, absolutely. I mean, if a character becomes popular, sure, sure. I seriously hope that is going to manifest because I really do love the character, and I love playing the character so much. He’s so complex and flawed and human and brave. I really love the arc of the character, and I think there’s definitely– I’m just imagining him sitting at Narkina 5 at the moment, on his own, perfecting his backstroke."

Approximately ten days later, Andy Serkis's return in Andor Season 2 was officially confirmed in an interview by ET. This confirmation had fans wondering if the showmakers were going to connect Andy Serkis's Kino Loy to the actor's other Star Wars character, Supreme Leader Snoke, introduced in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Supreme Leader Snoke and his connections to Andor Season 2's Kino Loy explained:

We meet the Supreme Leader Snoke for the first time in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Andy Serkis provided the motion-capture performance for Snoke. He is introduced as the leader of the First Order, which is the Empire of this new trilogy. He is well-versed in the dark side of the Force, which resulted in countless fan theories regarding Snoke after the release of the 2015 movie.

This is why a lot of fans were left disappointed when Snoke was killed off in the very next movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Not much was known about this character apart from being a dark side user and Kylo Ren's master. Thus, J. J. Abrams had to come up with an alternate explanation for Snoke in the final movie of the new trilogy, The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

It was revealed that Snoke was a clone that Palpatine had created to nudge Ben Skywalker/Kylo Ren towards the dark side. But Andy Serkis returned to the Star Wars Universe as prisoner floor manager Kino Loy in the first season of Andor. This had fans wondering if the prisoner floor manager will be tortured in Andor Season 2 to be used as a clone for Snoke.

This would make sense because Andor Season 2 still takes place at the time when the Empire and Palpatine are at the height of their power. Plus, Snoke's scarred appearance would get an explanation if it came from prisoners getting experimented on. Andy Serkis himself addressed this confusion in a 2024 interview with ScreenRant:

"I love that show. I loved it because Tony Gilroy is such a genius writer. It's all about the writing. I remember him talking to me early on, and I was like, “Am I going back into Star Wars universe? People were so confused with Snoke. Are they going to start thinking that Kino Loy’s some weird cousin of Snoke? This is going to confuse the hell out of people” But then I read the script, I went in and read the script and met with Tony and he said, “Look, I want to make the Star Wars universe feel real. I want to write about themes that means something to me. I want to write about fascism and power and the abuse of power, and I can do it in this arena and make it resonate, and it'll feel real and grounded.”

Thus, despite sharing actors and both projects being a part of the same universe, it is possible that Andor Season 2 will not address Snoke's origin in any way. But, given that Kino and Snoke are played by the same actors, it may make sense to address the latter's origins.
