The latest Spring Baking Championship Season 11 episode premiered on March 31, 2025, on Food Network. It featured a faux egg dessert dish preparation for the pre-heat challenge. As for the main heat challenge, the show host, Jesse Palmer, revealed a "delicious deception" that bakers were supposed to bake.
He told everyone about the main heat where they would be preparing savory dishes that would look like a "dessert." The Spring Baking Championship host referred to that as "delicious deception."
"Your main heat - instead of giving the judges desserts, you're gonna serve them dinner...Well, what appears to be dinner. Because every one of your savory dishes - will actually be a delicious deception. A dessert in disguise. When your time starts come grab a menu card that will describe the dinner item that your dessert needs to look like."
Spring Baking Championship Season 11 Episode 4: Bakers prepare "delicious deceptions" for their main heat challenge
As the pre-heat challenge ended with Priya's win, the show host, Jesse Palmer, shared the next challenge: the main heat.
"Now that the judges are gone, I think it's time to turn the tables on them with an April Fool's Day prank."
He asked all the bakers if they were in, which, in turn, everyone agreed. He explained the task, which was to prepare a dessert dish that would look like a savory dish, aka a "dessert in disguise."
As soon as the Spring Baking Championship host finished explaining, with three hours time duration to prepare the delicious deception, bakers ran to grab their menu card.
After everyone grabbed their menu card, the host stopped the clock and asked Priya, who won the pre-heat and special power, if she wanted to exchange the card. Originally, her menu card read:
"Seared Tuna with Asparagus."
Listening to her, the host told Priya to take a walk and see if she wanted to exchange her menu card, using the special power she had won earlier during the pre-heat challenge.
As she walked around, she came across menu cards that read:
- Gnocchi Primavera,
- BLT & Pickled Beets,
- Roasted Chicken and Peas of Mushrooms,
- Sushi Cut Roll, and more.
She then mentioned wanting to exchange her menu card with Corey, who had, BLT & Pickled Beets. On the other hand, Corey was also excited as he wanted to make the exchange.
"I think I can pull together something pretty cool with this," said Priya.
She also wished goodluck to Corey. As for Corey, he was preparing Seared Tuna with Asparagus while Priya started with her Vanilla Orange Cake, Strawberry Gelee, Poached Pears, and Chocolate for the BLT & Pickled Beets preparation.
As everyone prepared their "delicious deception" dish for the main heat challenge, the winner was: Lisa. Her menu card read: Roasted chicken plate. For that, she prepared an Orange Raspberry Cake with Poached Apples and Coconut Caviar.
"Wow! This looks so real. There's gravy. The caramelization on the mushrooms is just a chef's kiss," said Duff Goldman.
Another Spring Baking Championship judge noted that the "peas" that Lisa had prepared were "crazy." All the judges loved the cake that Lisa had prepared. They mentioned that it was a "wonderful soft pillowy cake."
