After they are rescued from the wilderness, the remaining girls seem to have no knowledge of the necklace. However, when Shauna sees Callie wearing it, she realizes that Lottie has secretly kept it for all these years.

Seeing Callie wear the necklace naturally upsets Shauna, as she associates it with misfortune and destruction. However, Lottie sees the necklace differently, as she makes clear in her words. She even tells Shauna,

"It never meant what you thought it meant”

which further shows how Lottie perceives the necklace completely differently.

Shauna reacts badly to the Heart Necklace in Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 3

Despite Lottie telling her that it felt right to her to give Callie the necklace, Shauna gets severely upset with it and snatches away the necklace from her daughter’s neck. She also makes Lottie leave her house and she believes what she did without letting her know was not okay.

While Shauna’s reaction is understandable, Lottie’s perspective on the necklace is also significant. She had kept it with her for almost 20 years without letting anyone know and given the fact that nothing bad had happened to her shows that the necklace might not be a destructive force after all.
