Calling all fans of the Marvel universe! Actress Patti LuPone has recently shared an update on Agatha All Along Season 2, and it might upset many.

Featuring Kathryn Hahn in her iconic role as Agatha Harkness, the TV series introduced fans to The Witches' Road where Agatha along with her coven and Billy Maximoff sets out to regain her powers. While Hahn was the main character in the show, it also focused on the journey of other witches.

One of the standout characters in Agatha All Along is undoubtedly Lilia Calderu, played by none other than Patti LuPone. In a recent podcast series of Andy Cohen Live, the actress revealed that fans won't get Agatha All Along Season 2. LuPone said:

"There won’t be one. Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die,’ and I went, ‘But I wanted a second season.’"

As explained by LuPone, Jac Schaeffer already informed her about Lilia's fate, and that the makers have no play to expand the show beyond Season 1. Lilia is a Sicilian divination witch who sacrifices herself in Episode 7 "Death's Hand in Mine" in which she interprets the meaning of the tarot cards and also finds out that Rio Vidal is Lady Death.

Patti LuPone has confirmed that there's no Agatha All Along Season 2 on Disney+ as the story has concluded in Season 1. The creator of the show, Jac Schaeffer was the one who revealed that series' fate to Patti LuPone, but the actress always wished for another chapter in Agatha's life.

When the actress expressed her desire for Agatha All Along Season 2, the creator said "I don’t do second seasons", referencing her decision not to create a second season of WandaVision either. Agatha All Along concluded with Lilia, sacrificing herself, followed by Agatha sacrificing herself to save Wanda's son Billy Maximoff.

As for Lilia's journey in the show, the character first seems to be a weird witch who's often heard shouting random things. However, as the series progressed, Lilia's powers and significance in the trial were revealed.

Her trial in Episode 7 was to place the tarot cards in the correct order to ensure the survival of her coven. As the Sicilian witch begins her trials, she connects the dots with the past and can find the answers.

This way, Lilia was able to save her coven members but couldn't save herself. As the Salem Seven were fast approaching, Lilia stayed behind and met her end.

However, Jac Schaeffer explained (via Marvel):

"It wasn’t about killing off the character. It was about the evolution of this character: What is her next phase?"
