Why was Rita killed in The Accountant?

Christian Wolff is hired to look into financial irregularities on the company's books after the CEO of Living Robotics, Lamar Blackburn, and his sister Rita discover financial issues. Christian does exactly that and discovers, over the course of one night, that $61 million had been stolen from the company over the previous fifteen years. He discloses this to Rita, CEO Lamar Blackburn's sister, that he has yet to identify the thief.

However, Ed Chilton, the CFO, is later assassinated and framed as the thief by Lamar Blackburn, who then hires two hitmen to kill Wolff. After evading the two hitmen, Wolff decides to visit Rita because she is the only person he informs about how close he has been to finding the thieves. However, when Wolff arrives at Rita's flat, he discovers her dead with a bullet wound to the forehead. It is later discovered that her brother, Lamar Blackburn, assassinated her because she was getting close to the truth.

Which was that Blackburn had created and orchestrated a complex scheme involving financial fraud and corporate espionage. It also emerges that Lamar hired Braxton, Wolff's brother, to do the job as he wanted to eliminate any outliers before a multi-billion deal was completed.
