Katherine Renee Kane has been a familiar FBI cast member since season 3. However, in episode 1 of the most recent season 7, it was revealed that Kane's character, Tiffany Wallace, would be written off to provide her with an exit from the show. This is not a surprise to many fans since they had already anticipated Kane leaving the show owing to how things stood with Tiffany at the end of season 6.

FBI is one of CBS's most popular police procedurals airing for the last seven years. Tiffany Wallace has been a part of the unit headed by Jubal since season 3. Season 6 saw Wallace coming to terms with the unexpected demise of her partner Thomas Hobbs. She also worked hard to investigate this crime. By the sixth season's finale, Tiffany had killed Hakim who was responsible for Hobbs' death.

Tiffany's response to this incident was that of trauma. It seemed uncertain at that point whether she would be able to hold her own in the FBI unit any longer. Here's everything we know about Kane's exit from the CBS show.

FBI star Katherine Renee Kane's exit details revealed

As far as police procedurals go, FBI has a stable cast. However, that does not mean that cast members haven't left the show in the past. Katherine Renee Kane was brought on board after Ebonee Noel's, Kristen Chazal exited prior to season 3. The exact reasons behind Kane's departure are yet to be announced.

Kane's character Tiffany stood at an important crossroads in terms of her narrative arc by the sixth season finale. It thus appeared that there wasn't much room for her to grow within the world of the show and it was a question of whether her exit would be written out into the story. According to a report by Deadline, Kane remarked looking forward to what the future had in store for her. She added:

"It was time to look towards new creative endeavors. I’m excited for the future and wish the show all the best."

It is understandable that after playing Tiffany for so long, Kane now wants to leave it behind in favor of other characters waiting to be played. During the season seven premiere, it was revealed that Tiffany had already given her notice to the FBI unit and was working on her last case.

Tiffany subsequently had to take care of Scola after he suffered from an injury while working on the case. During the final moments of the episode, Tiffany revealed to Maggie that she was leaving town next week to relocate to Georgia where she hoped to lead a quiet and peaceful life working at a cafe with her sister.

Who is replacing Katherine Renee Kane on FBI season 7?

CBS has confirmed Lisette Olivera as a new addition to the cast. She will be playing the character of a new agent named Syd, who happens to be a behavioral analyst. It can be guessed that Syd would be predominantly preparing psychological profiles of the criminals and terrorists on the unit's radar.
