Netflix's Tex Mex Motors Season 2 aired recently on November 22, 2024. The second season features team members working at the Borderland Customs shop. While most of them work in the garage, managing paint, design, craft, engine, and more, Rabbit and Scooter go looking for potential classic vehicles.
The team members work on such automobiles and, after restoring them, sell them to car collectors. One such car was the '66 Lincoln Continental featured on the Tex Mex Motors Season 2. While restoring the car, Andy painted a fire-breathing dragon, which a potential buyer, Zeke, didn't like.
To finalize the deal with Zeke, Rabbit asked Andy to repaint the car before selling it. While agreeing to repaint the Lincoln, Andy shared:
"I'm proud of the dragon, but I get it. We've got a business to run. We sunk 25 to $26,000 in this Lincoln. And if Rabbit can't get 90 grand for it, that puts us in a profit margin of around $60,000. So, still hurts a little but that I've gotta, you know, slay the dragon. But I'll take one for the team."
Tex Mex Motors Episode 2: Andy repainted the Lincoln Continental as per new owner Zeke's choice
Tex Mex Motors stars Scooter and Rabbit purchased the Lincoln Continental from a junkyard owner in Chihuahua. They made a deal of $3,750 and their pickup truck in exchange for the Lincoln.
"We came all the way from El Paso deeper into Mexico looking for a '52 Chevrolet but then got a lead on a suicide-door Lincoln, which anybody knows is worth twice as much as an old '52 Chevy any day of the week," shared Rabbit.
After transporting the classic car to the garage, the team members Jaime, Andy, Wes, and others started working on its restoration.
"I decided to give this car definitely a black and white look. I know I told the guys I was gonna blend the dragon in, but I'm gonna take a risk and add some color. I really wanna show Jaime and the rest of the team what it is I can do with an airbrush in graphic design," shared Andy.
When the car was restored, painted, and ready to be sold, Rabbit and Scooter took it to a car show. They encountered many car collectors and enthusiasts who saw the '66 Lincoln Continental with the fire-breathing dragon painted on it.
However, none of them seemed interested in the car. A few said such a dragon and related design were not their "type." One of the car collectors, Zeke, was interested in the Lincoln. However, he shared the same concerns with Rabbit about the dragon's design.
The second episode of Tex Mex Motors featured Zeke calling Rabbit about the '66 Lincoln Continental. Despite agreeing to purchase the car for 90K, Zeke shared his concerns about the dragon design, which Rabbit said he would change.
Soon, Rabbit shares the selling news with Andy about the "catch" that Zeke presented.
"Lincoln is sold. There's a little catch. So, you remember that… that fancy fangled paint job? The new owner likes it. He just doesn't love it. So he wants to repaint it. But we did get the full asking price. For the car. 90 grand. Think about it. A lot of eyeballs saw that fancy dragon and all that stuff, and there's somebody that wants that," shared Rabbit.
He also told Andy they "gotta make it" where customers are "happy with it."
"You're right. Whatever color they want, I don't care."
While repainting the car, Andy told the cameras about how he was "proud" of the dragon design that he had done. However, he mentioned how they had a business to run and had already "sunk" $25-26,000 in the Lincoln. The Tex Mex Motors star shared that despite "hurting a little," he had to "slay the dragon."
Netflix is now streaming all the latest Tex Mex Motors Season 2 episodes.
