Suits LA, the Peacock Suits' spin-off series, premiered with two shocking revelations. Firstly, Ted Black's partner and mentee betrayed him, and secondly, his older brother Eddie was actually dead.
Amidst a whirlwind of other things, Ted finally had some solace when he talked with his dead brother Eddie, who will pop throughout Suits LA Season 1, as confirmed by creator Aaron Korsh.
Ted having Eddie's visions signifies that he is still not over his brother's death, something which he also blames his father for. Secondly, Eddie's visions help him gain clarity by being his voice of reason.

Exploring Ted's Eddie's visions in Suits LA
While the majority of the Pilot focused on Ted reeling from Stuart and Rick's betrayal, the episode also had some quieter moments for the protagonist when he talked with his brother Eddie.
While the reveal that Eddie is actually dead was brutal, it looks like he will continue to stay in his brother's life (in visions) throughout Suits LA Season 1.
In an interview with TVLine, Korsh discussed Eddie's importance and what he means for Ted:
''...it’s not really, to me, Eddie’s spirit. What Eddie really is in the present day, to me, is sort of Ted’s subconscious speaking to him. So Eddie is most often, in my mind, the voice of forgiveness. It’s Ted’s softer side that Ted might not be in touch with. So Eddie encourages him to maybe forgive his father, or maybe forgive Stuart, or whatever the case may be.''
While most fans were excited to see a Harvey-Mike reminiscent bromance between Ted and Stuart, the makers flipped the narrative on its head and made them rivals in the premiere.
Eddie might be Ted's Mike for the spin-off series, who will most likely not help him with cases with his 'photographic memory' but will provide emotional support as Mike did for Harvey in the parent series.
Considering Eddie is actually Ted's brother, the pair might replace Harvey-Mike's bromance in Suits LA, with Eddie providing solace for Ted at the end of a difficult day.
Suits' spin-off series will explore Ted and Eddie's past through flashbacks
Another plot point introduced in Suits LA is Ted's disturbed relationship with his father, who is on his deathbed in Episode 1. His father's dying state also does not stop Ted from shaming him for breaking their family apart, and he also blames him for Eddie's death.
With Eddie's introduction, albeit in visions, the show also opened the mystery around his death and Ted's past, which will be addressed in the upcoming episodes, as confirmed by Korsh (via TVLine):
''[There are] four, maybe five, scenes of flashbacks per episode, and we’re, basically, telling the story of what happened in Ted’s last year in New York. What happened with investigating [the mobster] and trying to put him away, and what happened to Eddie, and what happened with his father.''
He also revealed that Eddie will also appear alive in some of these flashbacks:
''Eddie comes and goes from time to time. First of all, Eddie is alive and well in the flashback, so in some of the flashbacks, you’ll see Eddie, obviously, not as a spirit, but as an actual person.''
Suits LA Episode 2 will air on NBC on March 2, 2025.
