The most recent trailer for Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 9 has fans worried about S. Epatha Merkerson's character, Sharon Goodwin. Many are wondering if she will be leaving the show.
There is no confirmation at the moment that S. Epatha Merkerson is leaving Chicago Med. The promotional trailer suggests that Goodwin's life is in danger when Cassidy attacks her, causing the rumors.
Things look pretty bad for Goodwin. If you are a fan of Chicago Med, then you by now know that Cassidy has been stalking Sharon throughout Chicago Med season 10. This storyline started in episode 6, where it was revealed that Cassidy's wife, Wendy, died earlier in the season because Goodwin decided not to treat her and instead chose to look after another patient.
Sharon Goodwin is a nurse who has risen through the ranks to reach her current position. In later seasons, she is one of the most important people in the hospital and continues to save and care for patients. However, the next episode will put Sharon Goodwin in grave danger as the new season reaches its halfway point.

How does Chicago Med put Sharon Godwin’s life under constant threat?
For most of the season in Chicago Med, Sharon has been dealing with a stalker, revealed in episode 6 to be a woman named Cassidy. Cassidy's wife, Wendy, died in season 10 because Sharon decided to help another patient in need following a shipwreck. Seeking revenge, Cassidy stabs Sharon in the stomach but quickly regrets her actions.
Meanwhile, Archer arrives at work that day to slip his resignation under the office door, saying he can no longer work for Lenox. Hearing his voice, Goodwin gathers up her strength and smashes a bottle over Cassidy's head and tries to get to the door. Just as Archer is about to get on the lift with the doors closing, he sees Goodwin in the office doorway with Cassidy at knifepoint behind her.
This leaves the episode at a cliffhanger as the show goes on a pause until January. The next episode will probably show Archer trying to save Goodwin, with hospital staff springing into action. That might make Archer change his mind about retiring.

How does Sharon Goodwin’s decision put her life at risk in Chicago Med?
One of the subplots throughout season 10 of Chicago Med is that Sharon Goodwin has been receiving threatening notes. She believes that her stalker may be one of the hospital staff whom she had to fire due to budget cuts.
A man was arrested for sending some of the notes, but the man tried to attempt suicide while in custody. But this too doesn't stop the threats; rather, it kind of accelerates them, with the most recent one being a break-in at Goodwin's home.
Cassidy, a woman brandishing a knife, attacks Goodwin at her office in the last episode. During their altercation, she accuses Goodwin of being the cause of her wife's passing.
This goes back to the season 10 premiere when the hospital was treating victims of a boat crash at the height of a blood shortage. Goodwin needed to choose between transfusing blood to the captain, who was responsible for the accident, and a woman whose chances of survival seemed very slim. She chose the captain, assuming he had a better chance of survival.
Cassidy is, of course, furious because Goodwin saved the man responsible for the tragedy, and her wife died. Goodwin tries to apologize, stating,
“I don’t want to die, but I don’t regret one moment of my life.”
However, Cassidy stabs her in the stomach. After which Dr. Archer arrives at the scene. The promo indicates that the new episode will pick up events from the point where Goodwin is seen dying.
