Among the highly fan-adored characters in the NCIS universe is the quirky forensic scientist Abby Sciuto played by former actress Pauley Perrette. Yes, you read it right. Perrette is now a former actress who has left acting for good.
While Perrette is grateful for the opportunities she could secure during her time in the entertainment world, it was just a way of escaping her real problems. It has been a while since Pauley Perrette retired from acting in 2020, but in a recent interview with Hello Magazine, she opened up about making the tough decision and how it feels.
The former actress explained that she has changed significantly in recent years, which allowed her to understand her problems better. Perrette revealed she was escaping into a character's life through acting, but now there's no need for that, as she's embracing living an authentic life.

Perrette's early plan during college was to join the FBI as she studied criminal science and sociology, but fate had something else in mind. She"accidentally" got into the acting world in the 1990s and kicked off her career with minor roles and guest appearances.
Apart from NCIS, Pauley Perrette has also been a part of notable projects like the popular American sitcom Frasier, and even the Academy-nominated film Almost Famous and Time of Your Life.
