At the formal weigh-in on Thursday for the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson match, Tyson slapped Paul. The incident occured a day before their boxing match, which is scheduled to take place on Friday November 15, 2024 at the AT&T stadium in Dallas, Texas.
Officials immediately intervened to break up the altercation between the two boxers. Post the incident, Mike Tyson's close friend disclosed that the boxer slapped Jake Paul because he stepped on Tyson's foot.
The Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson boxing match will see Tyson return to the professional boxing ring for the first time in 19 years. In 2005, Tyson lost his last fight which was against Kevin McBride.
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul were originally scheduled to go head-to-head in July, but postponed the fight due to Tyson's health issues. At the weigh-in held a day before the fight, both fighters made the required weight.

"Jake stepped on Mike's foot, that prompted the reaction. I was there and Mike just told me."
After the incident, Jake Paul who weighed in at 227.2 pounds stated that the slap had no impact on him and he would knockdown Mike Tyson during their boxing match. Jake Paul stated,
"I didn't even feel it-he's angry. He's an angry little elf...cute slap buddy."
The former Disney star concluded his remarks by stating,
"He (Mike Tyson) must d*e."
Mike Tyson weighed in at 228.4 pounds. The professional boxer was seen wearing a pair of Versace briefs. He chose to leave the venue after slapping Jake Paul at the weigh-in. Before leaving, Mike Tyson stated,
"Talking's over"
Rules of the Jake Paul VS Mike Tyson match
Fans can expect the upcoming boxing match to be different from the standard heavyweight matches. Instead of having 10 or 12 rounds, the boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will have 8 rounds. Each round will not be longer than two minutes.
With Mike Tyson's being 58 and Jake Paul's age being 27, different rules are set in place for the boxing match. Both boxers will be required to wear gloves that are 14 ounces. The reason behind this requirement is to slow down the fight as heavy gloves will lead to punches being less powerful.
