The new spy thriller TV series The Agency continues to intrigue fans with its unique narrative, focusing on Michael Fassbender's Brandon Cunningham, a CIA operative known by the code name Martian. It's a remake of the popular French series The Bureau, in which the titular character struggles to return to his normal life after years of serving as an agent.

Similarly in The Agency, Martain finds it hard to go back to a normal life and free himself from dangers. While the series' main focus is the CIA agent, it also features other key characters like Jodie Turner-Smith's Samia Zahir.

Samia is a married Sudanese woman who fell in love with Martian (who uses the alias Paul Lewis) during his undercover mission in Ethiopia. Their relationship was disrupted when Martian came back to London without revealing the truth about his identity.

Martian still has unresolved feelings for Samia, and the bond becomes a key emotional element in the series. He recruits Samia motivated by both personal and professional desires. He sees her recruitment as a potential way of rekindling their relationship. Her knowledge as a Sudanese archaeologist becomes another key factor in her recruitment.

As seen in The Agency Episode 3, Samia arrived in London without informing Martian and claimed to be attending a conference. In the same episode, Samia and Martian get into a heated argument which results in the end of their relationship. However, Martian later plans to recruit Samia for the CIA in The Agency to leverage her expertise and position as an academic.

One of the questions that many fans might have after watching the latest episode of The Agency is about Martian's plan for his love interest Samia. In Episode 7, she discovers Martian in the office of the university that facilitated her Visa. This serves as a major revelation for her, as starts to realize that Paul may not be the person she believed him to be.

On the other side, Martian wants to recruit Samia, who has international ties, to the agency, as his plan is shaped by a combination of personal emotions and professional considerations. He informs Henry and Naomi about his plan, as it would help them gather more information about a meeting between Chinese and Sudanese officials.

However, Martian hid the truth about his personal connection to Samia. This suggests that his plan to recruit Samia isn't just about fulfilling his CIA duties but also about rekindling their relationship.

Since he deceived her under the alias Paul Lewis, Martian might feel the guilt and urge for redemption. This way, he will be able to bring Samia into his world and remain honest with her.

However, there's another possibility that Martian could be using the recruitment as a cover for his real goal—running away with Samia. If she gets involved in the agency, it would become easier for the two to leave behind the CIA and begin a new life, away from espionage.

In the latest episode 7, Naomi found some video archives from Martian and discovered something really interesting she didn't know. In one of the videos, Martian can be heard expressing his true feelings: that if he gets a chance to be with her after his mission, he will do it.

The episode ended without revealing if Samia would enter into the agency after learning the truth about Brandon Cunningham or Martian.
