While Marsali left the series to find a better life for her family, audiences did not see the character in season 7. This does not mean audiences will not get to see Marsali in season 8.

Lauren Lyle who plays Marsali has stated that she would be open to returning to reprise the role of Marsali. While talking to Digital Spy, Lauren Lyle stated,

"I love Marsali. She was the character that changed my life. I feel like I've gorwn up on the show a little but and I deeply love everyone on it, and I love the production, and I love our little family of four children that we have at the age of twenty-something, and how we just pop them out seamlessly, and it's just wonderful."

She further added,

"I love César and I think he feels the same way. We both feel very connected to out characters, and especially with the fans. It feel like we've gorn up with these fans."

Since Marsali did not have a significant role in the books, the show had written her into the story as fans began to connect with the character. Lyle added that she was grateful for the story that Marsali got and that she would definitely do more.
