The twelfth episode of Ghosts Season 4 recently aired and packed quite a few punches. The latest episode of Ghosts Season 4 was titled It's the End of the World As We Know It and What Were We Talking About? and revealed for the first time the unique power that the otherwise nondescript Basement Ghosts possessed.

As Jay Arondekar geared up to open his restaurant by the name of Woodstone B&B, his entire staff was afflicted with a cholera outbreak. That's right, the basement Ghosts have the power to inflict cholera upon unsuspecting individuals.

Before Ghosts Season 4, the basement spirits were consigned to relatively smaller roles in the larger narrative. They remained on the sidelines as the major eight ghosts usually took centre stage and most of Jay's attention.

However, as the latest episode of Ghosts Season 4 revealed, Jay must be wary of the basement ghosts as due to their power to cause cholera, they pose a unique threat to Jay's dream of opening his Woodstone B&B restaurant.

Although the cholera caused by the basement ghosts isn't lethal and does not spread from one person to another, it can lead to breaking health regulations, which is not good for a restaurant's reputation.

Here's everything that we know about the basement ghosts and their unique power.

How did the basement ghosts reveal their unique power on Ghosts Season 4 Episode 12?

The beginning of Ghosts Season 4 Episode 12 saw Flower discussing the impending apocalypse and the end of the world with the basement ghosts.

It must be noted here that although the basement ghosts haven't yet been majorly entwined in a narrative arc on the show, they are intensely proud of themselves and do not tolerate any instance of them being belittled. Since all of them died of cholera themselves, they use the disease to assert their power over mortals.

Flower's chief concern is with Jay's restaurant's opening, which she doesn't wish to ever happen. As a result, the basement ghosts thereby line up their powers and walk through Jay's staff members. The staff is soon down with cholera and the opening of the restaurant appears to have been successfully sabotaged.

Do the basement ghosts really mean business?

The above explanation illustrates why Jay should be wary of the basement ghosts. Despite possessing the power to inflict cholera upon people, the basement ghosts do not appear to be malicious. Moreover, the cholera inflicted by the basement ghosts doesn't spread from one person to the other and subsides within a day.

However, Jay must remember what the basement ghosts are capable of since another cholera outbreak can permanently put his restaurant dreams to a stop since repeated health issues will bring down food inspectors and the health department.

Ghosts Season 4 airs new episodes every Thursday on CBS.
