Iris didn't want to give her fingerprints in Mayor of Kingston Season 3 because it would have immediately revealed her criminal history. She feared that the revelation would jeopardize her relationship with Mike, as he put his trust in her.

However, Iris couldn't hide her criminal history for long as Ian Ferguson (Hugh Dillon) eventually discovers Iris's past. Despite that, Ian asked Iris to trust him and provide the fingerprints. Soon after the fingerprints are scanned, a bombshell revelation about Iris is made.

Interestingly, the Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 episode didn't immediately reveal it to the audience. Later in the episode, Iris meets Mike and confesses about her connection with Konstantin, the Russian mob leader.
