Severance Season 2 Episode 4 has delivered one of the most shocking twists about Britt Lower's Helena Eagen aka Helly. The actress was right about the new season's twists and turns, as the latest episode has added fuel to the fire with a major revelation about Helena's innie.
Since the premiere of Severance Season 2, there have been fan theories about Helena impersonating Helly. Since the innie exposed Lumon and the way it tortured employees, Helena experienced life on the outside and saw the backlash to severance.
Even though she didn't want to return to the severed floor, Helena is the daughter of the CEO and had to manage the damage caused by her innie’s rebellion. So, the rebellion became a reason for her to take over her innie and deceive Mark S. and others.
Is this the only reason why she pretended to be Helly the whole time? Well, turns out there's more than one reason behind her bold move. Helena cannot risk losing her position in Lumon, especially since her father isn't convinced to make her the next CEO.
Additionally, Helena has been jealous of her Innie. While it's the same body, the two are entirely different from each other. If Helena wouldn't have taken over her innie, Helly would have again caused trouble.

From an eerie, horror-like atmosphere to exposing Helena's deception, Severance Season 2 Episode 4 "Woe's Hollow" emerged as one of the strongest episodes so far. Since the first episode, Helly hasn't been herself, and Helena ignited doubts when she was seen studying Innie and Mark's romantic interactions at Lumon in Episode 2.
Little did anyone know that it was Helena all along. She has been right there, watching Mark and his friends' every move including their secret meetings and whispered plans. But why did Helena impersonate Helly?
As mentioned above, Innie's rebellion was a threat and Helena couldn't risk losing control. Not only this, but Helena also envies Helly's freedom as her innie isn't burdened with feeling the pressure to impress her father and prove herself to be the next CEO of Lumon.
As seen in Severance Season 2 Episode 4, Irving realizes that Helena is pretending to be Helly. She has been spying on MDR and feeding information to Lumon’s higher-ups.
Since Helena wasn't accepting her deception, Irving grabbed her head and shoved it into the river, threatening to drown her to death if she continued lying. In a terrifying moment, Helena says "Do it Seth!", confirming she's indeed Helena Eagen.

Another big question after watching the latest episode is how Helena managed to take control of Helly on the severed floor. According to the procedure, severed employees lose all memories of their outies, and are supposed to work as the innies.
However, in Helena's case, she managed to bypass this rule. But How? Lumon has a secret override called the Glasgow Block, which helped Helena dominate her innie even on the severed floor. So, when she said "Do it Seth!" she asked Mr. Milchick to deactivate the device.
This leads Helly to suddenly take control and find herself in a threatening situation. While Irving felt sorry about his actions, the damage was already done. By the end of the episode, he's fired from Lumon.
