Fans have been speculating on various names for the lead role in The Golden Bachelor. Among many, the most talked-about names include Charles Ling and Mark Anderson. Bachelor Nation viewers might know them from The Golden Bachelorette.

While many fans have Charles Ling as their favorite contestant to lead his own show, some fans are against Mark Anderson. The reasons behind that are quite many. There have been speculations of Mark being the "producers" plant since his elimination from Joan Vassos' The Golden Bachelorette.

Despite both Charles and Mark being eliminated from the current season of The Golden Bachelorette, fans have Charles as the fan-favorite to run for his own The Golden Bachelor. Charles, the father of two, won everyone's hearts through his kind behavior and the values he shared about commitment.

The Golden Bachelor: Fan favorite contender Charles Ling vs. Mark Anderson

Fans witnessed Charles Ling, who lost his wife six years ago to a brain aneurysm, and it was an unexpected incident. Since then, the father of two, Charles Ling, has not been able to forget the love of his life. After 36 years, Charles was not ready to start someone else. Despite that, he appeared in The Golden Bachelorette and came off as sensitive.

Additionally, fans instantly fell for him because of his commitment mindset and the values he shared on the show.

On the other hand, there have been various speculations that Mark Anderson is the producers' "plant" on the Bachelor Nation franchise. Seeing Charles' popularity amongst the fans, the franchise might choose him as the next star of the show.

Fans might have noticed how Mark has been still struggling from his late wife's demise. Undoubtedly, Charles is also a widower. However, he seems to have handled the grieving comparatively better than Mark.

Mark, 58, is the father of five adult children and initially appeared on The Bachelorette Season 28. It was during his daughter Kelsey Anderson, the finalist constant on the show.

He was there to meet Kelsey's boyfriend, Joey Graziadei. Mark hails from Louisiana and is a retired Army veteran. The former Bachelorette contender was married to Denise Anderson for 18 years, after which she passed away in 2018 after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Since Mark participated in The Golden Bachelorette, fans have been rooting for Joan to choose him. However, things have not been working out in Mark's favor. He was eliminated from Joan's season during the fifth week, disappointing his fans.

As for Charles, the 66-year-old Philadelphia native applied for the show almost six years after his wife's demise. Unfortunately, Charles was also eliminated a week before Mark, during the fourth week of the show.

However, by that time, many fans had already been rooting for him. Despite getting eliminated from the show, fans still hope to get Charles Ling their own lead.

Fans following the Bachelor Nation have known Mark closely for a long time since Kelsey participated in the franchise. Since then, there might have been a chance he would be chosen to be part of the current show among the contenders. With that in mind, fans have been speculating about Mark being "favored" by the show producers.

While Charles Ling came out as a light-hearted and funny contender, Mark seemed sweet. It would be exciting to see who gets chosen to have his own The Golden Bachelor, Charles Ling, Mark Anderson, or something else entirely.
