Bobby Berk has been a popular person on Queer Eye. However, over the years, fans of the widely popular show noticed that Bobby Berk, the beloved interior designer on the show, appeared less frequently or took a step back from certain episodes and commitments.

To get an overall jist of what the show is all about, below is the official summary of the show:

"A former nun-turned-social justice lawyer dips her toe back into the dating pool for the first time in years—aand the Fab Five are ready to set her up."

Bobby Berk’s journey with Queer Eye and why he left

Berk became a household name as one of the "Fab Five" on Queer Eye, which premiered its reboot on Netflix in 2018. Bobby was acknowledged for his work, and he received many praises for his transformational work and design expertise.

However, in November, Berk released a heartfelt statement that took his fans by surprise. He used the platform to share the news of his departure with fans. He wrote the below on Instagram:

"It's with a heavy heart that I announce that Season 8 will be my final season on Queer Eye. It's not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one. Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon."

Later, it also surfaced that Bobby might have left the show due to a contractual matter. As per an interview that he attended, hosted by Vanity Fair, he said he and his cohosts Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness only had a 7-season contract, and now that has come to an end.

He was also emotional about leaving and then once again said:

"I would have had to pump the brakes on multiple other projects that are already in process. We had mentally just prepared ourselves to move on—tthat’s why I left."

Was there a feud between Bobby Berk and Tan France?

The rumors of a feud between the two began when fans got wind of the fact that Bobby had unfollowed France on Instagram. Adding fuel to the fire was him not tagging Tan in group photos of the Fab Five.

When Berk was asked about the rumor he said:

"Tan and I had a moment. There was a situation, and that’s between Tan and I, and it has nothing to do with the show. Should I have unfollowed Tan? No. Maybe I should have just muted him. But that day, I was angry, and that’s the end of it."

He put the rumor to rest when he said that the two were in fact like siblings and it is common for siblings to fight every now and then.

In the end, Berk’s decision to step back resonates with the journey of Queer Eye itself: transformation, growth, and a focus on well-being.
