Ava Ayala in Daredevil: Born Again is an important character as she will inherit the White Tiger Legacy after Hector Ayala. Ava is Hector's youngest sister and is the one from the next generation who finds the Jaded white tiger amulet that enhances her powers.
Secondly, according to the reports, the series is preparing to complete Hector's arc as Kamar de los Reyes. The actor who played Hector Ayala (White Tiger) in Daredevil: Born Again passed away on December 24, 2023, at the age of 56, after battling cancer. His performance was filmed before his passing, and the series honored him with an "In Loving Memory" tribute in Episode 2.
Why is Ava Ayala important in Daredevil: Born Again?

Ava Ayala will connect the Marvel Universe with the next generation of superheroes. The series is wrapping the character of Hector Ayala and hence making Ava a potential and worthwhile heir for the white Tiger legacy. Episode 3 sets up and teases the launch of the new White Tiger.
This is followed by Hector being falsely accused of murdering an NYPD officer. Matt Murdock comes forward to save him. Episode 3 teases the end of the story for Hector, who is shot by a masked man after he is set free. Therefore, it paved the way for Ayala to be the next white Tiger.
White Tiger is seen fighting alongside Shang Chi, Spiderman, and Daredevil, among other superheroes. As per reports, the series is setting up to replace Hector with Ava Ayala. This makes her a significant character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, as per the comics, Ava is the third white tiger after Angela Del Toro. Angela received the amulets and, as per the comic story, also received some vigilante training from Daredevil himself.
What Happened in Episode 3 of Daredevil: Born Again?

Hector is trying to save a man from the officer's harassment and accidentally pushes one of the officers towards the train. Hector's case falls weak when the man he saved doesn't show up in court on time, and the police officers are hungry to get him punished for killing one of their men.
Matt tries to portray Hector as a good man who wants to protect an ordinary man. In this process, he surprisingly reveals Hector's identity as White Tiger Vigilante, which comes as a surprise to Hector and upsets him. Afterward, Hector walks out free but is shot by a masked man at the end of the episode. The fans are speculating that this might be the end for the character in Daredevil: Born Again.
