A martial arts themed series, Cobra Kai is a sequel to The Karate Kid films. The series belongs to the comedy-drama genre. It is centered around Johnny Lawrence's point of view as he revives the Cobra Kai karate dojo and his past feud with Daniel LaRusso.
Cobra Kai sees the return of Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence. The cast of the series also features Courtney Henggeler, Tanner Buchanan, Xolo Maridueña, Mary Mouser, Gianni DeCenzo, Vanessa Rubio, Jacob Bertrand, Peyton List, and Dallas Dupree Young.
Cobra Kai consists of six seasons. The sixth season is divided into three parts. While the first and second parts are available to stream, the third part will be released on February 13, 2025. Many have often wondered who would win in a fight between Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso in current times.
In the past, fights between the two martial artists have either resulted in a tie or with Daniel as a winner. Seeing how Johnny Lawrence's character has evolved, if the two were to go head to head again, Johnny Lawrence would win.

Why would Johnny Lawrence win in Cobra Kai?
So far in the series, there hasn't been a fight between Lawrence or LaRusso where either one came out as a winner. In the film, Daniel defeats Johnny. In the series, season 4 saw a fight between the two characters but the fight resulted in a tie.
If Johnny Lawrence were to fight Daniel LaRusso, the former would emerge as a winner due to his evolution as a fighter in the series. There are many instances backing Lawrence's evolution as a fighter in the series.
While the season 5 finale saw Daniel defeat Terry Silver, the episode also saw Johnny Lawrence prove himself as a fighter. Lawrence took down five of Kim Da-Eun's trained students in Silver's house while LaRusso had only ever defeated one.
Another instance is how Johnny Lawrence defeated Mike Barnes. Having fought across the country, Mike Barnes was known as a much more experienced fighter than LaRusso and Lawrence.
While LaRusso did defeat Barnes, many didn't consider it a fair win. Since Barnes knew he was a superior fighter, he held back in his fight with Daniel as he did not take it seriously. He was ultimately defeated by Daniel when he used Silver's faulty tactic which let Daniel get a point more than him.
Johnny Lawrence defeated Mike Barnes in season 6 of the series. Some would say the circumstances in which Lawrence won a fight against Barnes were much more against Lawrence than they were for LaRusso.
Johnny Lawrence showed strength, growth, and toughness when he took down Barnes using Miyagi-Do's defense. He defeated Mike Barnes after taking multiple brutal hits himself.
Since Johnny is trained to strike first and strike hard while showing no mercy, he has a more aggressive approach than Daniel. This approach allows him to fight in fast and high-pressured fights.
Is there an upcoming fight between Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso?
While there has not been any indication from the show of an upcoming fight between Johnny and Daniel, there have been speculations. Audiences know there is some leftover tension as in the finale of season 6 part 1 Daniel punched Johnny but the latter did not fight back.
Johnny ended his friendship with Daniel. Since Sekai Taikao is leaving them with no choice but to spend time together, audiences can expect a fight to result out of growing tension between Daniel and Johnny.
