Why did Lily get replaced on Modern Family?
The character of Lily Tucker-Pritchett, who is introduced as the daughter of the main characters Mitchell and Cameron, was originally played by infant twins, Ella and Jaden Hiller. In Hollywood, it is known that child actors are only allowed to work for a couple of hours, in such cases casting twins means that productions can continue for a longer time. In the first 2 seasons of the series, the Hiller twins portrayed Lily, but according to the news portal NowToLove, it was known that the child actor’s parents were not enjoying the process of how the production was going.
Due to this, the child actors did not return for the 3rd season of the series. Hence the producers were forced to find a replacement to play the role of Lily in Modern Family. The role was finally taken over by actress Aubrey Anderson-Emmons who took over the role of Lily Lily Tucker-Pritchett, from season 3 all the way till Modern Family's conclusion.
