Stella, the new character introduced in XO, Kitty Season 2, is a complicated figure whose real identity and motive are central to the plot of the season. Stella is initially presented as a new roommate from Ohio but quickly becomes entangled in the lives of the main characters, especially Kitty and Min Ho.

However, as the story progresses, it is revealed that Stella is not who she says she is; her real name is Esther. This revelation sets the stage for a deeper exploration of her character and the underlying themes of revenge and redemption throughout the season.

Esther's backstory in XO, Kitty Season 2 is marked by trauma and humiliation. Years prior, she auditioned for a talent show run by Min Ho's father, Mr. Moon. At this audition, Mr. Moon publicly rejected her, stating she did not possess "the look" required for stardom.

This rejection went viral, leading to widespread ridicule and emotional distress for Esther. In response to this trauma, she underwent plastic surgery and adopted the identity of Stella as part of her plan for revenge against Mr. Moon. Her journey in XO, Kitty Season 2 is complex as she tries to come to terms with her past while seeking validation and revenge.

The transformation from Esther to Stella

Esther Shim transforms into Stella to get revenge on Mr. Moon. After being humiliated during her audition, she encountered severe bullying over the internet, and this crushed her self-confidence. To be free from the pain, Esther went for plastic surgery and then changed her name to Stella by portraying herself as an exchange student who came to study in KISS from a church.

Stella's initial look as a girl who is unaware of everything immediately changes when she reveals her intentions. She enrolls at KISS with a meticulous plan to expose Mr. Moon's shortcomings while simultaneously pursuing Min Ho romantically.

She manipulates situations to gather information about Mr. Moon and even installs recording devices in his home to collect damaging evidence against him. This duality in her character creates tension as viewers witness her struggle between seeking revenge and forming genuine connections with Kitty and Min Ho.

Her hidden agenda in XO, Kitty Season 2

Stella's real agenda is revealed in bits throughout XO, Kitty Season 2. At first, she appears to be in favor of Min Ho and his goals, but she has something far more nefarious in store for him. Through her cozying up to Min Ho, she seeks access to his father's secrets.

She aims at winning Min Ho into talent programs managed by Mr. Moon for destruction, her motive raising several moral concerns as her ways may question morals too. As Kitty becomes suspicious of Stella's identity, the tension mounts to a confrontation where the extent of Stella's deception is revealed.

This revelation of her true identity acts as a turning point in the story, where both Kitty and Min Ho are forced to reevaluate their trust in her.

Redemption and resolution

As the season progresses, Stella's redeemer arc begins, and her true identity is revealed. Later on, there are moments where Esther's character confronts her past. She takes into account all the pain that was caused by her need for revenge. In a pivotal scene, Mr. Moon admits his mistake and apologizes to Esther about how he hurt her during that earlier meeting.

This scene marks the development of both characters. Esther discovers that forgiveness is a way to heal rather than fuel more resentment. By the final episode of the season, Esther apologizes to Kitty and Min Ho for lying to them. Therefore, XO, Kitty Season 2 is at the crux of closure instead of conflict.

Stella's transformation from Esther into Stella in XO, Kitty Season 2 shows how past experiences influence present actions. Esther, initially motivated by revenge against Mr. Moon, eventually leads to self-discovery and reconciliation with her past.
