Invincible Season 3, episode 7 introduced us to eighteen evil Mark Grayson variants across the multiverse. The episode titled "What Have I Done?" features the multiverse, a major trend in superhero adaptations nowadays, in a big way. Angstrom Levy, the season antagonist, allies eighteen Mark Grayson variants and lets them loose on the Earth of our Invincible.
Of those, one of the evil variants we see in the episodes is Sinister Mark. Introduced back in the second season, we see this version of evil Invincible murdering his universe's Angstrom Levy and his son. After that scene, we meet this evil Invincible in this episode of Invincible Season 3 and even survives it.
Who is Sinister Mark from Invincible Season 3?
As stated earlier, we first meet Sinister Mark/Invincible in season 2 as Angstrom Levy begins to remember the lives of his alternate versions across the multiverse. One of the memories is that of a version of Angstrom Levy being murdered by an evil version of Mark Grayson after killing the former's son. This version of Mark might be one of the scariest evil Invincible variants as he has even killed Omni-Man.
He is identifiable by his black and yellow costume, and the eyepieces are also black instead of white like our heroic Mark's blue and yellow costume. Other than that, he wears a long-flowing yellow cape. From what we have seen, he is confident in himself and restrained in his demeanor, unlike his other evil multiversal counterpart, Mohawk Invincible.
In this Invincible Season 3 episode, he hovers over his prey in an unspecified Asian city. His opponent is a blindfolded shooter named Best Tiger, who is good with guns. Considering that several characters in Invincible are pastiches, it might not be surprising that Best Tiger might be inspired by Marvel's Daredevil.
Sinister Mark is flippant against Best Tiger, but the human opponent bests the Viltrumite opponent by deflecting a bullet. The screen cuts to a different fight between another hero and an Evil Invincible variant. Halfway around the episode, we learn that of eighteen, only eight Invincible variants have survived the battle, and that includes Sinister Mark.
The surviving variants turn on Angstrom Levy when he doesn't hold up his end of the bargain. As the eight are about to attack Levy, the supervillain uses his multiversal powers to exile the eight variants. These evil Invincible variants are transported to the same wasteland dimension we saw heroic Mark and Angstrom Levy fight in the season 2 finale.
That is the last we see of the evil Invincible variants in season 3. After that, our heroic Mark battles Angstrom Levy, in which the latter barely escapes with the loss of his hand. But fans are hoping to meet the evil Mark Grayson variants again.
Will the evil Mark Grayson ever return after Invincible Season 3?
As stated before the eight surviving evil Mark Grayson variants are transported to a wasteland thirty minutes into the episode. After that, they are not seen in the season. This is something that happens even in the comics too, and we see their return almost forty issues later. In that issue, we see only Mohawk Invincible and Sinister Mark surviving the wasteland.
When heroic Mark is transported by Levy again to this wasteland, he shockingly makes a deal with Mohawk Invincible, and they stop Sinister Invincible together, with the Mohawk variant delivering a killing blow to the sinister one. While an upcoming season will probably adapt this storyline, it is unclear if that season will be the fourth one or not.
