The Perfect Couple is Netflix’s newest murder mystery show released on September 5, 2024. It stars Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning, Liev Schreiber, and Meghann Fahy in important roles. The Perfect Couple was directed by Susanne Bier, renowned for her work which includes Bird Box, Brothers, and The Night Manager.
The series is about a flamboyant couple: Greer and Tag Winbury, who belong to the richest family in Nantucket. The story is set at their son Benji’s wedding celebration. The big day is in full swing, with everything set for Amelia, Benji's fiancée, to walk down the aisle and become a Winbury.
Tragedy strikes when the dead body of Amelia’s maid of honor Merritt (played by Meghann Fahy) is discovered. With tension hanging in the air, everyone including Amelia becomes a suspect. One other suspect or red herring who keeps viewers hooked to his storyline is Shooter Dival.
Who is Shooter Dival in The Perfect Couple?
Shooter Dival was deemed a primary suspect in the murder at the center of The Perfect Couple after his fingerprints were recovered on the deceased Merritt Monaco’s phone. The Winburys and Shooter are left gobsmacked upon learning about the discovery.
Although Dival profusely denies having any ties to the murder, several members including investigators try to pin the murder on him. He doesn’t exactly help his case, especially after he subtly seeks to escape the crime scene.
As suspicions continue to grow and cops turn the heat up on Dival and other family members, the mysterious connection between him and Greer is uncovered. As it is revealed, he had loaned Greer a whopping $300 grand for an anonymous cause.
After Greer confesses to what she truly needed the money for, Dival is scott-free and cleared of any accusations. Furthermore, he and Amelia are also romantically involved after she is uncertain about her future with Benji. Towards the end, although they don’t end up together, Dival and Amelia agree to keep things amicable while she gets her life back on track.
Who plays Shooter Dival in The Perfect Couple?
The character of Shooter Dival is played by Ishaan Khattar, an Indian actor. Khattar comes from a family of actors and actresses in the entertainment industry and has appeared in an array of films in Mumbai, his home base.
The Perfect Couple is not Khattar's international debut. He has also appeared in Pippa, Don’t Look Up, and Beyond the Clouds. Whether or not the budding star will continue appearing in more Hollywood projects remains to be seen.
