The upcoming spinoff series The Penguin on Max will feature an impressive fight for power in Gotham City, as several mob bosses try to use Carmine Falcone's death to gain control.
The Penguin will be the direct sequel to Robert Pattinson's The Batman and will also feature Salvatore Maroni, known as The Boss in the DC comics.
While Salvatore didn't appear in Pattinson's 2022 film, his mentions were enough to hint at his appearance in The Penguin. Now that Falcone is dead, it's time for Maroni to become the next crime lord.
However, it will be a challenging game, as Oswald Cobblepot, or Penguin, has already planned to initiate his reign of terror in Gotham. While Coblepot is thrust into becoming the most powerful, Salvatore aims to eliminate each of his adversaries, including the Caped Crusader.
Salvatore Maroni is among the cold-hearted gangsters in the city and will possibly come out of jail in The Penguin. His arrival will complicate the situation in Gotham and might even clash with Cobblepot.
Who will play Salvatore Maroni in The Penguin?
It was revealed in 2023 that Clancy Brown, one of the industry's most talented artists, will portray Salvatore Maroni in The Penguin. The spinoff will majorly focus on Colin Farrell's Oswald Cobblepot and his journey to become one of the notorious Batman adversaries.
However, Penguin won't easily gain all the powers in Gotham's underworld, as it will also bring back Falcone's notable rival, Salvatore Maroni. He's eager to take down each of Falcone's allies, including Cobblepot, and dominate the crime world.
The Penguin might also touch on Salvatore's past rivalry with Falcone since he's currently in jail and will undeniably find a way out. The Boss is also known for why Harvey Dent transformed into Two-Face.
Though there's no confirmation if Dent will be introduced in the DC universe, there's a chance for him to appear as DA Gil Colson, who died in Pattionson's film; hence, the chair is empty for a new DA.
Overall, The Penguin will see Oz's rise to power while dealing with notable adversaries like Salvatore Maroni, Sofia Falcone, and other evil-doers in Gotham.
