Salley Carson's professional journey is a lot more than that of a reality TV star. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina in 2017. Aligned with her education, she stepped into the medical technology industry. Currently, she is a Hybrid Robotic and Core Spine representative for Medtronic Spine & Biologics.

During Southern Hospitality Season 2, Carson established some relationships with a few of the existing members of Southern Charm.
Carson seems to have a history with Shep Rose as well as Gaston Rojas. In the trailer of Season 10 of Southern Charm, she even talks about her past with Gaston,
"Taylor's new boyfriend is my ex."
Further, she adds,
"And, like, I slept with Shep."
The trailer also shows Carson and Taylor even getting into an argument over Shep.
"I dated Shep for two and a half years. Ya'll just f-cked."
