Shannon is visibly jealous of Poppy when she appears in Mythic Quest because Poppy is her ex-husband's new and young girlfriend. She also made some racist remarks about Poppy and called her Ian's "Chinese girlfriend."
Shannon appears to be a jealous and insecure person who is more concerned about Ian's new girlfriend than about mending his ways with their son, Brendan.
