Following Hugh Howey's Silo Trilogy novels, Apple TV+ offered another science fiction TV series, Silo, in 2023, which is set in a future where humanity lives inside a huge underground bunker. It features a giant underground community with 144 levels where people live under strict rules, unaware of the world outside.
As seen in season 1, these rules are crafted to protect the residents from outside threats, but the truth is that they aren't aware of the world beyond the Silo. The rules are enforced by a group called Judicial, the individuals who claim to protect its people.
At the heart of the sci-fi TV series is Rebecca Ferguson's Juliette Nichols, an engineer working on the lower levels. Her job includes basic tasks like managing generators, but her life takes a turn when she begins to investigate a series of deaths after her lover's demise.
As Juliette digs deeper, she uncovers dark, hidden secrets of her world and how it's run. Her quest shifts from just finding answers to challenging the system and fighting for freedom. Additionally, Ferguson's portrayal of the character intrigues viewers to explore the TV series further.
However, Juliette isn't the only crucial figure in the Apple TV+ show, as characters like Patrick Kennedy significantly contribute to advancing the narrative. While he's just a maintenance worker in the Silo, Patrick indulges in illegal activities.
Who is Patrick Kennedy in Silo: Exploring Rick Gomez's character
Following the events of season 1, Ferguson's Juliette Nichols continues to spread the knowledge she has gained so far. Juliette found out that there are other Silos too, and that residents of her world must know about them. However, her relationship with other characters like Lucas and Holston grows complicated.
As the second season is currently ongoing, fans might be curious about some characters, one of whom is Rick Gomez's, Patrick Kennedy. As previously mentioned, Patrick's work usually involves maintaining the walls and painting them, but he also has a secretive side — he often deals with forbidden items like relics.

Patrick is first introduced in Silo Season 1 Episode 4 "Truth" in which he lived with his wife Doris on Level 22. However, later it's seen that Patrcik's wife died, and he starts to deeply resent the loss. As the story progresses, Patrick becomes a crucial figure whom Juliette (who later became a Sheriff) saved from being framed by Judicial Agent Douglas Trumbull.
Patrick's illegal dealings came to light in season 1 when Sheriff Nichols and Deputy Paul Billings visited his apartment. After facing some pressure from the investigators, Patrick ends up revealing the name of another Relic dealer, Regina Jackson, exposing that he isn't the only one involved.

Patrick Kennedy's alliance with Sheriff Juliette Nichols in Silo
Before Silo Season 1 ends, Patrick Kennedy becomes one of the allies of Juliette Nichols who becomes a Sheriff and continued her quest to expose the hidden secrets of her world. It was Patrick who helped her escape from the Judicial during her run and is among the ones who want to know everything that's hidden from the residents.
Later in the season, Sheriff Nichols, Patrick, and his friend Danny Bly retrieved valuable information and video files that they planned to broadcast. However, their plan failed, resulting in the arrest of Patrick and Danny as Nichols managed to escape once again.
The events of season 1 transformed Patrick into a complicated character. As seen in season 2 episode 3, Kennedy agreed to make a deal with Sims, in which he would provide him with the information he has, and in return, Sim will erase all his memories including his wife's tragic death with a drug.
Later in the episode, Kennedy threw a firebomb into a fray, which resulted in an injury from a gunshot. His whereabouts are revealed in the latest episode 5, in which Paul Billings and Deputy Hank convince him to reveal the information he has, but only if he gets medical help—a doctor to treat his injury.
As the second season continues, Patrick Kennedy's role will become even more important as he holds information about Silo that could expose a dark truth about it. It would be intriguing to watch if Patrcik would ever change sides, especially now that Hank and Billings have found him.
