Cobra Kai Season 6 has Xolo Maridueña reprising his role as Miguel Díaz, the dedicated karate student who has become a key figure in the series. Over six seasons, the Netflix series has traced Miguel's transformation from a bullied teenager to a serious martial artist.

Born on June 9, 2001 in Los Angeles, California, Maridueña started acting in 2011 and has become a familiar face on screen playing Miguel Diaz in the show, as well as the titular superhero in the film adaptation of DC's Blue Beetle.

Early Career and Breakthrough

Maridueña's started out in the world of entertainment modeling for a Sears catalog. His acting debut happened in the TV series, Parenthood. He entered the show as a guest artist but soon his character Victor Graham was given full-fledged footage, and became a part of the main cast from Season 4 to 6.

In 2018, Maridueña got his big break on the small screen as Miguel Díaz on Cobra Kai, a sequel series to The Karate Kid films. On the show, Maridueña's Miguel is a high schooler who becomes the foremost disciple of Johnny Lawrence's revived Cobra Kai dojo.

One of the significant factors driving the series narrative is showcasing the character's emotional journey as well as martial arts training. Maridueña's realistic performance has earned him wide acclaim.


Expansion into Films and Other Ventures

After gaining foothold on television, Mariduena took his career to a different direction — he forayed the world of films. In 2023, he starred in Blue Beetle, as the protagonist Jaime Reyes and his alter ego, the titular superhero. His casting as a Latino superhero was a historic first. Mariduena has said he is very proud to represent the Latin American community and find the importance of diversity in media.

Maridueña's career continued to flourish. In December of 2023, he was cast in the film, Killing Castro, alongside the legendary Al Pacino and Diego Boneta. Being a part of a cast with such greats only underlines Maridueña's growing stature as an actor.
