Darren Star works with ViacomCBS to create shows. Star was going to be in charge of making the show, along with Tony Hernandez and a company called Jax Media was also helping to make it. At first, Paramount Network said they wanted 10 episodes of Emily in Paris and it happened on September 5, 2018. But later, on July 13, 2020, plans changed. Instead of being on the Paramount Network, Emily in Paris is on Netflix.

In Emily in Paris Season 4, Part 2, a new character named Marcello, played by Italian actor Eugenio Franceschini, enters Emily’s life. Fans are buzzing about Eugenio Franceschini, who plays Marcello in Emily in Paris Season 4. The second part of the season dropped on Netflix on September 12, and viewers quickly became obsessed with the character.

In this part of the series, Emily steps out of her usual routine and travels to Italy, where she meets Marcello. Her best friend, Mindy played by Ashley Park calls it a very Un-Emily move, but Emily's romance with Marcello soon becomes a key storyline.

Franceschini is from Verona, Italy, in the Veneto region. Even though he’s now an established actor, he started as a theatre artist performing at his parents' company, Viva Opera Circus. His father, Gianni Franceschini, is also a well-known theatre actor, and Eugenio followed in his footsteps by taking on lead roles at a young age.

When he was 18, Franceschini moved to Rome to pursue film roles and studied at the prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. In 2012, he made his film debut in the romantic comedy White as Milk, Red as Blood (Bianca come il latte, rossa come il sangue).

He later starred in films like Sapore di te in 2014 and Maldamore in 2014, which earned him the Guglielmo Biraghi Award from the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists. He’s also known for his role in the 2016 TV series Medici.

While working on Medici, Franceschini met his partner, and they welcomed a baby boy in 2018. He often shares sweet photos of his family on Instagram.

At the Rome premiere for the second part of Emily in Paris Season 4, Franceschini described landing the role as

"an unexpected gift."

He explained that everything happened quickly, as he was filming another series in Italy at the time, so he

"just jumped into it."
